Help me save my battery!

My commute is 1 hour each way where I listen to pandora or mixzing and I surf the web/gchat/email. My battery barely lasts a full day. I have wifi & bluetooth off all day. Any other ideas on how to extend my battery life?

Sounds like it would be worth the extra $35 to buy a spare battery and take it with you.

That's what I was going to suggest. He can even let it trickle charge off of a usb cable on his computer (assuming he has a computer at work).

However, I also have a 1 hour commute each way and do the same activities on my phone during it and my battery will last between 20-24 hours before it's dead. It's really kinda tough to give you more advice here since we don't know what else you have running on your phone... Rooted & OC'ed? Lots of widgets? Are programs constantly looking up your location via GPS? etc.

I agree. I have 3 chargers
1, at home, 1 in gym bag, & 1 at work.

Thee assumption here is that your commute is on a bus or train, right

turn off GPS if on
turn off syncing
charge at work - how hard can that be

Car charger? Then 2 hours of the day when your phone should be discharging, it charges instead.

I'll probably have to charge it at work. I have wifi/gps/etc all shut off. Only a few widgets. I'd like to figure out how tasker works, cause i think that'd help a lot but that program isn't very user friendly.

Like the above check all your settings. Before I rooted and added the smoked glass rom, my battery would last me all day and only drain about 20%. The brightness was set to 50, email sync was on and occasional web browsing(without wifi).

That being said:
JuiceDefender works for me despite what others say. It also comes with an APN toggle widget
Settings Profile real nice. Just look it up
Brightness makes a big difference
Droid car dock on Amazon is $30 and comes with a moto car charger
Keep an eye on weather twitter facebook and check your auto update settings

I think the main problem is my gchat and email pops up all day. I'd like to shut these off when I'm at work. Is there an automatic way to do this? I can't seem to get it to work in Tasker...

Off the top of my head, I would suggest Locale. It would automate a lot of different things based on where you are. I don't know anything about Tasker.

Oh yeah, I have a car charger. That should solve your problem for good.
