Hey guys, now that we have a release date. How do you plan on pre-ordering the phone? I spoke with a EVP rep who said that if I were to pre-order through them, they would get the phone to me on release day, and maybe if I'm lucky, sooner than the actual release date. How does pre-ordering at The Shack or BB work (I know about the $50 gift card for BB)? Will there still be lines? Is the phone guaranteed on day 1? Any possibility of actually getting the phone earlier? :)

Radio Shack's pre-order offer is set to begin tomorrow, Friday May 14th, according to a local store in my area. As stated, you don't have to deal with the hassle of mail-in-rebates. And their website says they're offering a $20 accessory credit if you pre-order by May 31st! Cell Phones from RadioShack

You buy a $50 non-refundable gift card and they hold your phone on the 4th & 5th for you to pick up...thats according to the guy at RS that I spoke with a couple hours ago. I plan on going there tomorrow! KD

$20 accessory credit with RS preorder. I'm leaning towards RS.

I just stopped by my local radio shack and they said they don't do the rebates either, that along with the $20 accessory card has me sold on pre-ordering it there. So I tried. It is not in their system yet!

They said it will be tomorrow 5/14. And they will hold your order for 2 days for you. Not that I won't be there on the 4th waiting for them to open up!

Can BB & RS apply company discounts? Can they verify codes before I pre-order? Would hate to pre-order then show up to turn phone on just to find out they cannot apply discount properly. And while I'm asking, what's the bill cycle date (pre-order date or date the phone is activated)?

Just pre-ordered at BB. Guy said that he MIGHT be able to apply the corporate discount. No guarantees. I figure theres no real accessories I want to buy at RS. Only thing I want for my phone is a SGP.

Are you a current subscriber? If so, the discount rate is already on your account.

I want to pre-order, but will be doing it out of contract, anybody done this yet? At RS or BB what was the off contract price?

I called my local BB and they stated that they're NOT taking pre-orders for people who are not eligible for an upgrade or new line activation. This is being discussed in the best buy pre-order thread.

As for Radio Shack, my local Shack was useless - the fella didn't even know that they were going to do a pre-order.

That is because it has not shown up in their system yet. They start pre orders tomorrow.

The Best Buy where I pre-ordered the phone at, said that there wasn't any line when the Incredible came out and they are not expecting any lines. They also guaranteed me a phone on release date.

I also opted for the damage insurance form Best buy as well as the invisishield. I'm still thinking about the lost insurance form Sprint as they can't give me a definite price for it. :)

With my pre-order experience as well as the $50 gift card, I'm a happy puppy. :)

The insurance: (Geek Squad Black Tie Protection): $9.99/month (2 years) first 30 days would be free, but you'll be billed starting on the 31st day. You can cancel anytime before 30 days.

ZAGG Invisishield: 29.99 it says "Install B4" on the Recommendation paper, but I'm not sure if I'll be charged for that or it would be free.

The sales associate cannot give me the price for the Lost or stolen insurance from Sprint. So I'll just see if I'll avail of it or not.

I want to be covered on any mishaps since I don't want to pay full price if anything happens to my phone. :)

Good news: EVP pre-orders are live. I logged into my company's EVP store and saw the Evo ready for pre-order. I'm contemplating returning my BB gift card and just going with EVP, since the rep I talked to said I may get the phone earlier since they ship the phones as soon as they get them. Downside is that I would have to deal with MIRs. One thing that should I note is that my company's 20% discount did not apply to the $10 premium data charge, leading me to believe that the charge will not be discounted at all! Also, EVP is offering an additional $25 MIR, making the phone $174.99 after MIRs.
