Help Google Talk - Clear Chat History

No NOT simples.
Perhaps you've emptied too many of those beer cans ;), Beerkan, but I specifically said that the option you suggested DOES NOT APPEAR.
Where you are seeing 3 options (Clear chat, Insert smiley & View contact), on the Galaxy Portal I have, only Insert Smiley and View contact appear. Any other suggestions out there?

Heyup BeerKan.
Your sincerity was never in doubt, and I really appreciate that you attempted to help me at all, but I admit to getting frustrated when people suggest I need to do the one thing I have said that I cannot do.

Anyway, in response to the implicit challenge you set me I have spent some serious time googling for an answer, and eventually come up with this solution:- You do it from Google Mail. (Menu, Labels, Chat)! Crazy, crazy madness, but it seems to work.

Thanks anyway. It's good to know that there are people like you around to help.

Nope; that option is still noticeably absent. Hopefully when T-Mobile get around to upgrading the OS (I live in hope) it will be fixed then. Of course if you're offering a simple fix...:)
Factory reset was the only solution offered on droidforums.net

Not as drastic as it sounds. You don't lose any data off your SD card. It takes about 5 minutes to return your phone to normal, i.e. reconfigure wifi, re-sync contacts/calander etc. Then download your installed apps from Market place. Install AppBrain See here and that task is even easier.

If you're interested in updating to 2.1 firmware, your going to have to reinstall everything anyway.

I updated my Galaxy Portal from 1.5 to 2.1. You'll see the download link to latest firmware in my siggy. It's a 3 minute job, and there are numerous guides available. My download includes everything you need. (bar the instructions)

Or,

you can wait for T-Mobile to get the finger out, and update the firmware.

Many waiting for that.

and still waiting...

BeerKan, You'll have to explain where there's a link in your sig. All I see is a reference to 'i570EXXJD4' which means nothing to me. I've never done any phone-fiddling. Any pointers would be appreciated coz I'm tempted.
Sorry, I removed the link. 150 downloads and only 2 thanks. :(.

In case you didn't know, the Galaxy Portal also goes by the name of Galaxy Spica and Galaxy Lite. Same phone. Check out those threads for details on how to update Android from 1.5 to 2.1. When your ready to take the plunge, gimme a shout and I'll PM you the 2.1 Firmware.
