Root BB V.1 Kernel question

So i'm loving Bugless Beast except for the battery drain problems. I figured it was kernel problem so I switched from the Bekit one that comes stock to P3Droid which definitaly gave a boost in battery life but I was in the red zone with my temps a few times. I switched to Chevy's kernel and while still maintaining decent battery life I'm still overheating. I've been running at 1ghz on all kernels. I was thinking of just switching back to bekit's since I have an extra charger and cable in the mail.

My question is what kernels are other people using and what results are you having? Any thoughts or suggestions are also welcome.

P.S. if your not having battery drain problems please don't chime in, it doesn't help anyone to gloat about it.

Update to SetCPU 1.53, it should give bettery battery life for the Droid.

1.5.3: * Memory/performance footprint decreased.
* Battery drain should be fixed on the Droid.

I would also advise you to use a 1 GHz kernel if that's all the faster you will be running, I am just recommending this as I see you have the P3 1.2 GHz kernel even though you only run at 1GHz. This will give you more slots below 1GHz for SetCPU to take advantage of possibly improving battery life and temperature.

I got the update to setcpu today and it didn't seem to help the temp problems. I also reflashed to 1.1 ghz P3Droid kernel. From what I've seen you should get a kernel thats a little above what you plan to oc to.

I was gonna go back to bekit's to test out setcpu but everytime I load one up I just get the motorola boot screen. I've tried different speeds and different voltages but didn't test too far. If I reflash the rom and don't wipe data and cache will i still maintain everything or should I just do a titanium backup for my apps and do a clean flash?

I'm looking forward to 1.1 and I hope he changes the "pete" file to exclude clock speeds and include all the other stuff. I'd prefer to oc myself so I can set profiles and have complete control

It makes no sense to use a kernel that goes above the speed you use.
