Hi Guys,

Quite new to Android and the X10. Just got it a few days ago. Is there a way to install or change the method of unlocking the handset when it times out, i dont really like the swipe method that you have to do at the moment?

Are there any other unlock apps you can install?

they do have other unlock sliders in the market iphone style and an htc style unlock but the issue i keep having is that the default ARC unlock does not deactivate so you have to unlock that one THEN it goes to the downloaded unlock screen which you then have to unlock is there a way to disable the native unlock

Does anyone know of an app (or a way in the settings) to lock the phone requiring a passcode to unlock rather than just a finger swipe? i had the ability on my iphone and i kind of miss it, added security and all if i lose it
In Settings, select Security. Select "Set unlock pattern" and record a graphic passcode. If you prefer to deactive this added security function de-select "Require pattern":

The unlock pattern is amazing.

By the way, is there any other ways to take the incoming call. It's disgusting to open the sleeve and swipe to pick the call. While driving using ear pads, still, we need to swipe to take the call. Is there any other ways of receiving the call?

Hi Benzmar,
I use a Bluetooth headset (Plantronics Voyager Pro) in the car. All I have to do to take a call is to touch the button on the headset when it is connected. I'm not sure whether all bluetooth headsets would work with the X10 like this.

Hi guys this is my first post so I hope I do everything right lol. I got lock screen 2.0 working fine on my xperia X10 earlier I did this by downloading the app no lock from the market. first close screen lock 2.0 and install no lock which will disable the default screen lock (make sure both of the apps are ignored if you have a task killer installed) then run screen lock 2.0 and you should be done. I've noticed it keeps Turning your screen on if you leave your wifi on and you may need to do a little messing with the back light timer on your phone as default its very short but nothing major. hope this helps you guys.

"Goto" app
works really well.. unlocks without a problem. im really diggin this app at mo! would be better if i was able to customise it! :p --the only thing you can customise though is the background image like ive done above--

only saw SE swipes twice.. so far!
1st - when someone rang my phone whilst it was in lock mode.. swipe needed to answer
2nd - when i put passcode on, i though id test just pressing the back key instead of entering my code.. and lo and behold the SE swipe showed up! lol.. i really find these as minor issues..

suposed 2 show weather forecast under date but not sure why i cant get the weather bit working!

billy jean can be changed to any name you want.

The above 2 settings can be modified by hitting the "i" --near date/time--

the phone icon when tapped upon shows a little slider where user can change to loud, vibrate or silent without even having to unlock!!

the swipe to apps work well although wish i could customize it.. so far its messaging, call log and gmail! and unlock after that! lol

although i dont think this was meant to happen im actually glad it did lol basically when the lockscreen shows, if u keep hold of the home button, it shows the 6 previously used apps which you can go to without the need to unlock although once you back out of the app you chose to view, your back to the lockscreen again lol

for those who are bit off about the whole unlocking and then passcode thing, i just tried a quick test now and i can say when this phone is in lock mode, you can jus press home key and draw ya passcode and your then taken to homescreen :) also holding home key doesnt show previously used apps here so no worries about anyone bypassing security!

well hope this quick review helps!!

Thanks for the heads up, I was about to try that today.

I tried No lock and LockBot Pro yesterday but, sometimes I would get the SE lock screen and sometimes it'd just go straight to the phone. While in the car, it opened the menu and loads of stuff. I had dolphin browser open, it was a shortcut on the homescreen as were a few other things :S. So I tried Lock 2.0 instead, slightly better. At least I can't browse the web by accident but, the SE lock screen keeps coming up now as well, so I need to unlock it twice. If the buttons activate GoTo, I won't download it, just keep what I've got I think.

I love the swipe and it is innovative. I do not want to remove it. I just want to keep it and use it whenever I require. I should have option to opt for other methods of unlocking too besides the usual swipe (for especially picking up calls).

True, bluetooth answers, but apart from BT, is there any other system/apps in phone itself to operate per requirement?
