Help Going to the Official 2.1 From the Latest Beta

So, in order to install the actual official Sprint 2.1 update, I'm going to need to blow away my phone and start from scratch again, even though I have the latest Beta OS installed?

not actually if you use joeys recovery and do a backup first after you flash the official update as long as you put joeys recovery back on all you have to do is restore using the backup you just made.

This sounds like what could make my life easier. Currently, I'm running DD16 with Joey's Recovery. So, I backup my current setup, blow everything away, and then restore, and I'll have the new OS with my old stuff still on the phone?

Is there a definitive thread with solid instructions for doing this backup?

Hi HTCman, thanks a lot for the info.
But do you mind if i ask you for help?
I followed your steps from 1 and get stucked in step 2.
After i connect it to swupgrade, the computers keep asking about the driver.
Maybe you can help with this problem..

Thanks..

Check the first part of the instructions -- that might help (USB Drivers)

I can get the update done just fine, what I was wondering about was the backup I needed to do beforehand so that I wouldn't have to restore everything from scratch:

"Is there a definitive thread with solid instructions for doing this backup?"

Definitive? not sure. But check this post, because this was the issue holding me back as well. But it appears to be pretty simple.

Did you go from CL14 to DE03? or DD10 (or DD16).
I'm on DD10 right now, and reading through the.. hundreds.. of pages of info on SDX, I'm not sure if I should make the jump yet.

when i got my moment i had cl14 then jumped to de03 then to dd10 then dd16 now on the official de03 de03 had its advantages the guys over at sdx are amazing with what they were able to do but if you run into a problem reunning aything other than official cj05,cl14,or de03 sprint will not even look at the phone.

But specifically going from DD10 to DE03-- I'm wondering if it's worth it right now. My 2 main issues right now are: Ridiculously horrible battery life. (I can kill it easily in a few hours doing normal things), and the Data lockups (once or twice per day). Other than that...it runs fairly smooth right now.
What do you guys think? DD10 vs DE03
