Root I don't understand anything about "Root" and how to install the android 1.6 factory

I don't understand anything about "Root" and how to install the android 1.6 factory

So now I have R8 which is from the phone that I bought on ebay. The seller didn't tell me that he installed 1.6 android on this phone .

After some research, I want to install factory android 1.6 from BH_MAN to make the vibration work again .

Can someone explain how to do what to step by step to install so that I can use the vibration again .

Here's what I wrote after succeeding with Take5:

You do NOT need root access to flash Take5 or 1.6 stock. Odin does it all. So here's some more detail about how I finally got it done (thanks to everyone helping):

1. Download http://www.junefabrics.com/bin2/SamsungUsbBehold.zip and unzip the files, then run the "Setup.exe" file. Your phone does NOT need to be connected to the computer to install this driver.

2. Download Odin at http://www.4shared.com/file/nFe93F45/BH_MAN_WarHeads.html. This file includes other files but you need ONLY the "Odin Multi Downloader v4.03.exe" file (there may be another download location for it). So unzip this folder and put Odin somewhere on your PC so it's handy. Don't need to open it yet, though.

3. Download Take5 from http://www.4shared.com/file/h6HvytYX/BH_MAN_Take5.html. Unzip this folder that contains two files: "Behold2_partition.ops" and "BH_MAN_Take5.tar.md5".

4. Open "Odin Multi Downloader v4.03.exe" and then:
a. Click the "OPS" button and select the "Behold2_partition.ops" file
b. Click the "PDA" button and select the "BH_MAN_Take5.tar.md5" file (you may get a message saying "Image Image Type" but you can ignore it)

5. While your phone is still not connected to the computer, turn the phone off. Then you need to get into DOWNLOAD MODE. To do this, hold down (in order, and you KEEP HOLDING THEM) Volume Down, Center D-Pad Button (the round one), and then End Call. Remember: KEEP HOLDING THEM ALL DOWN THE ENTIRE TIME. The phone will turn on, and should say that it's in Download Mode (psz clarified this). It will take several seconds. Don't let go of any of the three buttons until you see "download mode".

6. Now that the phone is in download mode, connect it to the computer's USB port. When I did this, Windows asked me if I wanted to install drivers, so I said yes and let it do it's thing.

7. In the Message box in the bottom-left corner of Odin, it will say something about your phone being connected. Now you click the Start button in Odin. Wait maybe a few minutes and your phone will reboot and turn on with Take5 running.

8. Unplug phone from USB and enjoy.

Can you give me the link download full files for Factory Android 1.6 which has the vibration . I am not sure Take5 has the vibration function .

Also Are you when I plug myphone in , it will automatically install the driver .

If I change to Take 5 or android 1.6 factory , I can still change back to R8 Android 1.6 GALAXY right by using the same way that u did , using ODID right ?

Thanks for ur information .

Yes take5 has vib, but I really think you will be happier with the stock 1.6 behold2. No twiz roms require more work to keep running fast and smooth plus there is a lot of customization new users sometimes don't like. If you aren't into modding please do yourself a favor and go with stock 1.6

So where can i get the download link for stock 1.6 vibration link download like the "TAKE 5 " that the guy above has given to me .

I just want to change to vibration , whichever is fine . I just need the stock 1.6 linkdownload .

And I can use the step above like he shown me right ? put 2 files OPS AND TAR into ODIN and flash it right .

Here:
http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-behold-2/63612-port-behold-ii-factory-1-6-a.html

it's the same process just use the files posted to the above link instead of the take5 files

Which one , the one said BH_MAN_STOCK_FIX.zip and camera fix link ? Also How do I put the camera fix into the Stock 1.6 android as well together when I am using ODIN ?

Also the Odin he posted above is 4.0 version , and the one BH_MAN posted is 3.9.5, which one I should use

Thanks

it can be a real chore to get it set up for windows 7. If you can use a computer running xp or vista
What do you mean real core ?
I can use the samsung driver for win Xp right ?

"""How about the top part A2SD ===
A2SD Options & Install
Un-zip Playlogo & Playlogo_real to any location ( Desktop I alway do )
adb push ( a2sd_BH2 Folder Location! ) to /system/bin
Quote:
adb shell
cd /system/bin
chmod 0755 playlogo
chmod 0755 playlogo_real
reboot
a2sd_BH2.zip""""" JUST Ignore it , ?

=====

To conclude , install 2 files TAR AND OPS , hold down volume key and center key , power button to DOWNLOAD MODE .

Install it by ODIN ,
How long for it to install do you know ,and why do you think STOCK 1.6 is faster and better than TAKE 5

I am afraid the screen rotation problem will not work like some people have that problem . Do you know if the rotation landscape mode will work for factory android 1.6
Thanks for your info

Its not faster at all and I never said it was! I said stock is more stable and newbie friendly. Don't worry about a2sd if you dont know what it is you don't need it. And the camera works fine. I SAID TO IGNORE THE LINKS BELOW BH_MAN_STOCK_FIX.ZIP!

Thanks
What about the rotation of the phone , does it work ? some people did install and it does work ?

On the Odin , what do I need to select for the IMAGE . BOOT, PHONE , PDA OR CSC for the BH_MAN_STOCK file .

Again , right now I am using R8 Android 1.6 Galaxy I Believe . So what about root , If I install factory android 1.6 into my BHII , successful or unsuccessful , Can I be able to go to back to Android 1.6 galaxy .

Rooting ? Can I still do that with my BH2 on android galaxy 1.6 rightnow ? If so how do I root ?

Or just use the same step above ODIN to install GalaxY Android 1.6 ?
