What do you think after using it for two weeks?

My $0.02 on the Incredible after the first two weeks, is mostly positive.

But a few things need to be stated:

- When I handed it to an Apple person, in a sunny parking lot, he wasn't impressed, and who would be? You couldn't see anything, it's useless in full sun.

- Navigator is awesome, except when it isn't. The voice gave me plenty of warning on the highway, was dead on accurate. But then it spaced out and told me to go right when I knew I needed to go left (twice, same spot) It also told me to go right down a one way side street, in an area I was unfamiliar with. It also "interpreted" my typing of "West Main Street" as "East Main Street", and I didn't catch it until I heard "arriving at your destination" in the middle of a field with no hotel in sight. I've given up and gone to using my zip code instead of my home address.

- The battery is pathetic. Yeah, when running GPS you'd expect it to be bad, but it hardly made it through the day today. (That's 7am to 6pm.) I actually broke down and charged it at work for a short time. I think my battery performance has been worse since uninstalling ATK.

- The camera, seems like a winner, but I've yet to see a shot as good as something off my 5 megapixel Canon.

-Oh, did I mention the crash, which blew away the HTC pages, moved my icons around, and wouldn't let me reset to any of the standard scenes. I was using Google Goggles at the time, looking up the value of old text books. Very cool, until it wasn't cool at all. Lost my contacts, and required a full refresh to factory settings and re-activation with Verizon.

- Speaking of crash...the red gradient case is very cool. But when it took a fall from the counter to the floor, the case opened up, and it fell face down on the floor unprotected.

- Lastly....It is awesome to have the internet in the palm of my hand. Being able to get to the office e-mail, gmail, websites I frequent like this place while waiting around in between meetings or waiting for something to process.

I really do like this device...but it's far from perfect.

I've shown it to iPhone users (in fact I was was before this phone) and EVERY one of them thought it was great and very iPhone like (in a good way). They were especially impressed with multitasking and the level of customization available.

No navigation app is perfect. My Magellan has gotten me lost numerous times.

Battery life is a known "issue". However, I easily get through 12-14 hours on a single charge. I'm at 50% battery and have been off charger for 12 hours.

No phone camera is going to be as good as a dedicAted camera - I don't care how many MP it has.

Never had a crash of any kind here.

Never dropped my phone off a counter, but that's not unexpected in the least.

No phone is perfect. Even the EVO will have flaws and the iPhone has plenty of its own as well.

Yes, I agree with some of the issues listed, but they are in no way a deal breaker for me. This is the BEST device I've ever experienced--hands down. It blows the iPhone out of the water and every other device currently available. Heck, based on what I've seen of the iPhone 4g (or whatever they'll call it), the Inc might just break even with it.
Full sun does lower the visibility, but I don't think it does completely. I can still see it, albeit with lots of straining! lol. I simply turn so my body creates a shadow on the screen and VOILA, I can see it. It's only direct on screen sunlight that wrecks the view.
I agree with this: the battery SUCKS! I even have the Seidio 1750 battery, and I still don't get through a whole day....BUT, I'm CONSTANTLY (and I do mean that) playing with my device. I have a live wallpaper going, wifi, gps, and network all going. (I turn off bluetooth unless I need it). There's hardly enough time for the screen to sleep because I'm picking it back up to add an app, uninstall one, search for something, or just play with it. It's really an "incredible" device in my view and lives up to its name.

Two weeks in, still like it lots.
Coming from an iPhone, the iPhone seems higher quality, more spit and polish to some of the apps. The HTC Mail app in particular hasn't worked well enough for me. I've switched to the latest version of K-9 which seems to be doing ok for me.

Its easy for me to take for granted now things that I couldn't do on my iPhone. When I think of going back its to a much less capable phone.

I love that I have true multitasking. I can listen to Pandora while downloading video files in the background, while the navigator is running. Awesome. It all just works. I also use BlueRSS which can update RSS feeds in the background.

Verizon coverage is such a huge win over AT&T. I forgot what its like to have coverage again. I barely had AT&T coverage in my city. Step outside the city and no 3G coverage anywhere. Now I'm burning through data. Often showing the kids youtube videos while driving places.

The Navigator doesn't even exist on the iPhone. I think its awesome.

While I complain about HTC's Mail program, on the iPhone you don't have a choice. If you don't like what it comes with you're out of luck. On Android, you can find something better. I like that freedom of choice. Its the reason I switched... along with decent coverage.

And I think the Incredible does fine in the sun. I still have my iPhone and the Incredible doesn't do much worse. I've used it in direct sunlight. Not as bad as I was led to believe.

I love mine more and more everyday after 2 weeks now! It's a freeking mini-pc in my pocket that navigates, reminds, notifies, vibrates, alarms, searches, browses, speaks, informs, plays music, plays radio, records, emails, finds best deals, takes pictures, watch TV/movies, record video, plays games forgot the others...and it's fast at all of these :) It's just so darned customizable And I'm very happy with it's battery life on the SEIDIO 1750! Guess you can call me biased

I won't sit here and compare this phone to my 3Gs, a more fair deal would be to the newer 4th gen iPhone when it comes out because the s is a year old already. However there both really good in there own way at the current moment.

I really love the whole customization thing going on with HTC and Android, and the incredible gives u that satisfaction. In not so many words, Android will improve with every outing, and will be bigger then most thought in another year or so.

So to break it down, I like the phone, however it has its draw backs like every other phone on the market. But its worth it to give it a try once stock comes in if you don't already have one. However I will be leaving it for a while, as I will be trying the EVO out! Only because I really do love the HD2 and happen to really like the size. But I will say this, if the EVO fails on me in terms of wowing me, I'll be back to a shiny brand new incredible and call it a day for a while. No new iPhone for me, can't deal with dropped calls no more on at&t! So either way, Android wins my devotion.

I'm noticing I'm using it more and more. This is my first smart phone and it truly is awesome. If i need some type of information, i love being able to just pop out my phone and have it in front of me. The battery life itself doesn't bother me. My friends all seem to like my phone. I'm still installing apps and things like swype and loving it. I've noticed its kind of hard to set up this phone and figure out what things you want it to do, but once you get it set up just right, it's so easy and quick to get things done.

I've been waiting for a phone that could do all the things the Inc. does for like two years. When i decided to upgrade, i stumbled onto an article about this puppy and that was it. The One i was waiting for. All by accident a month before the release. I got one on release day and it's freakin great. The only issue I've had with the phone has been the battery like a lot of ppl, but got an extended life batt and now it's a lot better. Bottom line, my family love it, girls love to play with it(no pun intended LOL), so for a long while, I'm sticking with this puppy till Verizon does the next great thing.

This so far has been my best phone.

My iphone crashed more on me than this phone.

But its not saying much neither are really that crash prone.

I am loving this phone mainly because of...... wait a f-ing minute.. my phone just rebooted by itself. hmmmmm

anyway.. besides that , i love the browser and the nav... and the voice search.. i did not think i would use it but walking around with one hand full i can search something online with just my voice.. NOICE !

and the google calender rocks, instant syncing both ways.

Google voicemail also seems to be working great.. If only some one would call me and leave a message.. im soooo lonely.. kidding.

My Seidio 1750 battery keeps me from worring about my battery life, i have gone 2 days and have had 25% left at the end of teh second day..

I could go on, but i dont want to look like a silly little DI fanboi.. ;)

Im loving my incredible. Here are a few of my high points.

I love swype ( yes I know some hate it )

I love Pandora. I drive at least 1.5 hours commuting everyday to and from work and listen to pandora everyday.

I like having my google calendar synced to my phone. My wife also shares her calendar with me so I know what her and the kids have going on.

I have been pretty happy with Handcent sms. I like the bubbles for conversations over what is stock on the phone. I also like the popups when you get a message and that contact pictures show up in the message list.

The few pictures I have taken with it have been great. The phone has better picture quality than the cheapy digital camera I have been using.

I like always being connected and being able to get my gmail on my phone.

The miscellaneous games and apps that I have downloaded to waste time.

Coming from an Lg Dare this phone has been a huge upgrade. I cant really think of any negatives.

i'm thinking i need to replace it with a different case, any suggestions?

I have my incredible in the verizon silicone case with a phantom skinz screen protector. It fits very tightly on the phone and is very slim. It is almost like not having a case on the phone at all. Two days after I got my phone a coworker dropped it ( accidentaly while looking at it ) about 4 or 5 feet onto a hard floor and it suffered no damage. The case has not stretched at all and is very secure on the phone.

Coming from an EnV Touch I am simply blown away. After installed the Seido 1750 battery (which gives me 20-40 hours depending on use) the only complaint (and not a large one) is the little annoying habits of non-google email. Yahoo! only works over 3G, and Hotmail won't delete email on the server. Those are very small issues, and overall I am absolutely happy with this phone.

I'm finally starting to relax with it too. I babied it for a week strait, but you just gotta be careful and if you break it you break it (that's what insurance is for).

Thanks for the recommendation...I was thinking a softer silicone case is in my future.

I hear great things about Google voice but am still waiting on an invite.

Oh, and I forgot to mention another thing I've noticed. I only use the optical track pad about once a day.....I guess that says something about how good the user interface is...its really slick.

I am overly pleased with the phone after a couple weeks. and you never know what you will find tomorrow that it can do or a new app that does something better. i honestly don't know how i lived without swype, absolutly awsome. like everyone about the only negative i could come up with would be battery, i am really considering the seido 1750. now that i am using the phone "normally" (not constantly playing with it) i find it lasts until about 8pm for me (starting at 6am). it would be nice if i had about 20-30% left on the battery at 8pm, i am worried that if i travel and have to use the phone pretty heavy i will be running for a wall socket constantly. a little extra oomph on the batter would put my mind at ease.

=======================================================

Just about what I was going to say about this INCREDIBLE device. I haven't been this fascinated with an electronic device since I unboxed my commodore 64 many years ago, LOL !!! No problems whatsoever. There are so many things you can do with this phone that I wouldn't even know where to begin trying to describe what a pleasure and privilege it has been putting it through all of its paces. Trying to learn all of its capabilities has been a real blast for me.

I hope that others will look past the few minor annoyances that you find in almost any cutting edge electronics and enjoy the heck out all that this thing has to offer. It seems like an endless list of all the tasks this cell is able to perform. I think it would take me about a week to do a proper review of this great piece of hardware. I could go on and on here but that is the jest of my experience. Thank you VZW, HTC and Google !

- When I handed it to an Apple person, in a sunny parking lot, he wasn't impressed, and who would be? You couldn't see anything, it's useless in full sun.

I've seen an iPhone in direct sunlight. It's no better.

Neither the phone or the application have any control over the maps. I've had this issue with multiple GPS devices - from a crappy Cobra all the way up to a top of the line Garmin - that will have the same issue in the same places. It has to do with the map, not the device or its software. Not really fair to gig the phone for that.

- Speaking of crash...the red gradient case is very cool. But when it took a fall from the counter to the floor, the case opened up, and it fell face down on the floor unprotected.

This is pretty much how all two piece cases react from a drop that high onto a hard surface. That's physics.

I really do like this device...but it's far from perfect.

Isn't everything?
