Has HTC Pulled The Incredible For Flaws?

I know the official stand is its being held up because of a lack of parts from suppliers but it could also be that they realized they had a problem on there hands and they are waiting for NEW REVISED parts to arrive. Its next to impossible that HTC would have such a poor supply chain as to stop production on a hot new model. Companies like HTC make agreements with suppliers before start up of production as to how many of each part they will need per week delivered to the factory to keep the production line flowing or else. Im guessing a running change has been made and the wait is on to get the redesigned parts to the factory. Verizon should be getting shipments of new product almost daily of such a hot new product, something is fishy to me. Im guessing a new antenna is on its way or maybe a software change to fix the signal issues.

Sure, it's possible. And it's also possible that Steve Jobs didn't steal that liver.

The failure rate of the Inc has been very low. You can put the tin hats away LOL.

Speaking of Tin Foil Hats...maybe that would boost signal strength. You know...like back in the day you could get free HBO with tinfoil wrapped around your cable.:D

It would take an incredibly long time to make hardware changes to the Incredible. Software changes can be made to new devices and pushed to existing devices. This is just a case of demand exceeding supply. They are due in on June 8. It is literally impossible to make hardware changes and manufacture new devices in that time frame.

Yeah.. pretty sure they would have to resubmit any new hardware design change for FCC approval all over again. Gotta be parts availability or pending software change or both.

More likely is, someone doesn't have a clue how manufacturing works...

Items are made in batches, normally a production lines can make MANY more items then are needed, so they make a bunch, retool the line, make something else then come back if needed...

In this case Verizon order x number of phones, figured it'd take 6 months to sell them. HTC made the phones and went on to make 1 of the DOZEN other phones on the that line.

Verizon goes oh shit we need more phones and puts in a order to HTC, sorry their not going to stop in the middle of a run to make incredibles...

Plus did you ever consider the supply chain? its not like HTC keeps the parts for 100k DINCs just sitting around.

Some of the parts may even be on back order from other plants...

its been 2 1/2 weeks since they started selling them...

Wow...what a reach that one is! Many, if not most of the "flaws" being discussed aren't really flaws. There is no "signal issue", just folks that do not understand the power saving features of this new phone. Try making a call and then look at the signal indicator.... And as far as your analysis of supply chain, channel suppliers and the rest, it is just wrong. Units were ordered based on demand for other past phones, but demand for the Incredible is greater than what was expected, simple as that. There is no grand conspiracy to cover up anything or to introduce a new model. (Sorry to burst your bubble. Nice try, though).
