Help Can Incredible call a phone # in a calendar entry?

Hi all,

Does anyone know a way to call a phone number that is in a calendar entry on the Incredible? This is a feature I used 10 times a day on my blackberry and I can't beleive there wouldn't be some way to do it on the incredible. I am a sales rep and when I set up an appointment I put the name of the office and then I type the phone number right next to the name. When I opened the entry on my bb I could then click on the number to initiate a call. The incredible doesn't seem to recognize the phone number as anything different than text. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

I just tried it out in my calendar and it works just fine but you may be putting the phone number in a different field than mine. Are you putting the phone number in the "what" field? Because it will only read it as text like you said.

However, if you put the phone number in the "description" field in this format
123-456-7890, it will allow you to tap the phone number within the calendar entry and it will automatically dial it so all you have to do is tap "call"

That was a big help. I had tried that in "calendar pad" and it didn't work so I figured it wouldn't work in the HTC calendar either. But it does. Now hopefully "calendar pad" will allow this in an update because I like the way it shows the appointments in the month view as text, not just bars showing filled time like the htc calendar. I use this feature numerous times a day and I can not seem to get it to automatically accept my pin for various conference lines. On my BB, I could do 123-456-7890x12345# and the x would create the pause. If I do that now, it shows up as a p the pause, but will only dial the number and not automatically carry over the x12345# to the dialpad.

Go into edit your contact, then instead of inserting a "p" use the other option in the on-screen number keypad which is to insert a "w". Then it will give you the option to dial it similar to what the bb did.

Is there an app for that? I got rid of my blackberry storm, hoping to have better capabilities. Used to have the ability to dial a call directly from a calendar appointment. So far this is my last hangup with the switch. Is there an app that would allow me to highlight a phone number in the calendar and make a call?

I have tried everything from w to p to commas... None of these work when trying to dial a conference bridge number and pin from an appointment on my Incredible. I do not have set pin numbers that are used. This lack of support for conference bridges is very frustrating. Has anyone happened to hear of a possible fix coming along soon?

The problem of not being able to dial a number with an extension (e.g.-conference bridge plus pass code) from the calendar location field is not specific to a particular manufacturer or device. The built-in Calendar does not handle this. I tried some of the other apps available and they also annoyed me to the point of writing an application to take care of this task. It can be purchased on the Android Market.
It seems to handle pretty much anything the meeting organizer throws into the appointment "location", such as conference rooms, superfluous text, etc. and provided that there is a phone number, with an extension/pass code or not, it'll break up the string into the pieces needed for me to make only a few touches (no text entry) to identify what must be dialed. It also adds delay where needed.
