Does anyone have a problem with how the battery cover fits? If I squeeze the phone on the opposite side of the volume button towards the bottom of the phone, the case squeeks and flexs inwards. Being the OCD person that I am, I am constantly sqeeking the case and I am pretty sure that I am going to break it soon.

I want to take the phone in and have it replaced but would like to just have the cover replaced rather than the whole phone.

Mine squeeks like crazy in that spot...haven't heard anyone else complain.

I am quite close to taking the phone back for an exchange based on this alone. Case squeeks like crazy....right where my fingers grip. I may just get a extended case with a extended batter - or a protective case. Still, knowing this issue is underneath will bug me.

This happens to me all the time, it is driving me insane. My wife thinks I am crazy for caring, but to me, it bugs the crap out of me. Even if I am texting it will squeek, or pop. I think I am going to see if I can exchange it, love my phone so I just need to get this fixed and it will be perfect.

Interesting post. Mine actually "flexes" slightly on the same side as the volume switch just a little below it. Doesn't squeak though. It just confuses me a little sometimes as I think I am clicking the volume, but it's just the case flexing a bit.

I love my Incredible, but I'm slowly starting to see small places where others have mentioned it feeling 'cheap'.

My battery cover started to show some space between itself and the device about a week ago... It doesn't squeak, or make any noise for that matter, but it's definitely a cause for concern since it's not completely sealed.

I'm wondering if this is what happens first and then it starts squeaking because of debris. Has anyone been successful in getting a replacement from Vz?

BTW, this is the top left corner when looking at the device from the back.

Everyone's back cover will probably start to bend and squeak. With all the squeaking and rebooting every half hour or so, I am seriously considering just returning my droid not so incredible. I really just want a phone with a 3.7" screen, no keyboard, and a snapdragon processor. Verizon is releasing five new phones soon, hopefully one of them runs android and fits my hardware requirements. I have the same problem - battery cover squeaks on both sides. Also, the metal "H" on the back cover came off already. I have also been having a slight issue with the power button staying in the down position a little bit. I love the phone overall, but wonder if I shouldn't try to exchage. I ordered online is it still possible to go into a store to try for a complete exchange on a new Incredible?

I had the same 'squeak' as you guys mentioned. It drove me NUTS. My girlfriend had the same issue with hers, but it didn't bother her as much.

I also bought an OEM HTC Touch Pro 2 Battery 1500 mah off ebay for $15.00.

Well, this purchase killed two birds with one stone. The battery is every so slightly bigger, which takes up the extra 'wiggle' room and now the squeak is totally gone and I have extended battery life. Just buy the battery and you will be as happy as I am. :)

Thanks! Can you post a link to the battery you bought on Ebay? I have had the problem of ordering the wrong thing a few times in the past. DUHH :D

Okay, So I the 1500 mah battery does cure the side squeak. However, I just realized last night the squeak is now located on the bottom of the phone.

So, it doesn't totally cure the issue, but its def in a less noticeable location. The side drove me crazy, the bottom only happens when I try and make it squeak...
