Hi Everyone,

I am planning to upgrade to the incredible this summer and am wondering how well google calendar works on this phone. My wife and I use google calendar for everything. I need a calendar that shows my calendar and my wife's. I have read about google calendar and the birthday problems.

Is google calendar on this phone reliable and will it show my wife's stuff and mine?

Thanks everyone.

I have MS Outlook Calendars synced to my Google Calendar which syncs to my Android phone. Works nice. If your wife gave you permissions to view her calendar on Google Calendar then you will also have that capability on your Android phone. If you subscribe to a Google Calendar, say the NY Yankees Calendar, it will also show up as a calendar you can view on your Android phone. Very nice.

How did you sync your Outlook calendar and Google calendar? I imported my Outlook calendar but don't want to have to keep doing that.

You would think that the google calendar would work flawlessly on the incredible since it is associated with google. I just want to click and look at one calendar showing my stuff and my wife's.
I say because the Google calendar app on an Android phone allows you to do this. The same way you can over lay multiple calendars together in Google calendar on a PC browser you can do the same on the Google calendar app on an Android phone. I do it all the time.

If you just want to sync one ms outlook calendar to one google calendar you can use Google's sync app:
Getting started with Google Calendar Sync - Google Calendar Help
If you want to sync multiple calendar to multiple google calendar, sync outlook contacts to google contacts, etc. you can use:
http://www.daveswebsite.com/software/gsync/
I use it.

I'm doing this also but it is a bit of a learning curve for me coming from the Palm software which I loved. I bought an Outlook book yesterday to figure this all out since I'll be doing it this way for some time to come.

The main problem I'm having is syncing two computers to Google, home and office, since I use both a good bit.

Are you allowing the sync to delete automatically opposed to waiting for you to make the decision to delete or not?

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. Some items that were on all three of the calendars I use (phone, Outlook, Google) are showing up three times on my phone calendar, with three different color codes. Is there any way to automatically remove duplicates?

Did you create separate items on Outlook then another Google Calendar then another on the phone prior to your first syncing?

I have the same issue. I now just one way sync my PC outlook with my Google calendar. That eliminated my issue but creates another problem if you want to sync the other way. I have not tried the two way sync for a few months because I did not want to delete all the duplicates from my calendar. Has this issue been fixed?

I have 5 calendars that sync with my DI. My personal, My wife's, and three for my business (I am a musician so gigs are potential, booked or canceled).

Most everything is perfect

Drawbacks that I can't solve yet:
1. Can't change a calendar from the phone once it has been set
a. I can add an event from the phone to any calendar but the only way I can switch it (from mine to my wife's, is online).
2. You can change the default alarm time for an event that you add on the phone to anything but none. I wish you could set the default to be no alarm. I have to manually turn off the alarm for every event that I add on the phone.

Otherwise, it has worked perfectly for me so far.

I use some alternate apps to view the calendar. Calendar Pad gives you a great month look with colors and text for every event.
