HTC chrome sticker on backplate comes off easily

I just got my phone yesterday and already the chrome sticker "h" in "htc" peeled off. i just layed it on some carpet and it snagged and ripped the sticker right off. I could tell it almost snagged the t as well because there was a fiber caught in it, but not enough to rip off the letter.

Anyway, just a warning that those htc letters could come over very easily if you place it on a fiberous carpet.

I am going to take it to verizon today to see if I can get a new backplate. What do you think?

I think you should peel the 't' off. Then glue the 't' first and the 'h' second so that it reads "THC".

i would love to have a thc phone so i could impress my smoking buddies. but the stickers won't restick once they come off, they are like foil and crumples.

If verizon is no help, (or will take your phone for a week to fix a sticker), you could just take all the letters off and be left with an embossed "htc" logo.

Just take the lettering off and paint it red. Same colors as the insides.

Same thing happened to me... Verizon is willing to replace it but it has been 2 weeks and they still haven't got a unit returned to pull the back off of. What do you think the odds are that HTC might send me a new back plate?

Huh, guess HTC didn't glue the letters securely. My phone is in a silicone case so the letters are safe, but rubbing them with my finger they seem fully recessed in the cover and I can't feel the edges so strange they would come out. Someone used the wrong glue, or maybe no glue.

Happening now to mine too. Only put it in my pocket, no fibrous carpet encounters. Maye my pocket is fibrous too?

Any update on if this is a chronic issue or what VZ will do?

You could always turn it in on your insurance as a "lost" phone. Then you have two back plates!

Edit: that is a only a good idea if you are okay with spending 100$ for a back plate... I forgot about the deductible(the reason I do not have that BS insurance.)

I got insurance through this joint, https://www.protectcelladvantage.com/, offered at the store, for 120 bucks for 2 years. That's 5/mo. First incident is only 50 deduct. Not too BS IMO.

Don't really want to spend the deduct anyway for a trivial thing like that. Wouldn't mind an extra free backplate though.

i got the 2150 extended battery and pulled off the chrome stickers immediately.

looks a lot better IMO
