Which keyboard should I pick?

Today I took my incredible old default dell mouse from my old computer back in 2000 apart to clean it. It works great now but for some reason the scroll wheel is really difficult and loud when turning. I went on newegg and found the new mouse I wanted and decided I would just replace my keyboard too. I'm really into gaming on the computer and I've narrowed my choices down to 2 pretty good looking keyboards. The decision is either the:

Microsoft SideWinder X6
Newegg.com - Microsoft SideWinder X6 Black Keyboard Win USB English

or

Kinesis Freesytle
Amazon.com: Kinesis Freestyle Solo Ergonomic USB Keyboard - Black: Electronics

I like the microsoft one because it's a true "gaming keyboard" and it has backlit lights, but the freestyle just looks so cool and easy to manage.

Just because the Kinesis looks completely donkey, go with the microsoft one. Though, personally, I would recommend a Logitec one. They're the only ones I trust with keyboards and mice, especially wireless. Theirs have no lag at all.

I tend to avoid wireless all together with gaming equipment, do you have any suggestions for logitech keyboards?

Do you want just a keyboard, or a keyboard and mouse combo? All of their wireless ones are great so far by my hands. I like the Wave, which is what I've been using for quite some time now. Batteries last a heck of a long time. Even this first generation Wave has battery life of a little over 6 months on 2 AA's.

Logitech ? Get immersed in the digital world with a mouse, keyboard, webcam, headset, Harmony remote, speakers, and more.

Just hit up their website, see which one you like, then go around to like a local Best Buy or Office Depot, they're bound to have it.

The G15 looks nice and even better is that it's $20 cheaper on newegg than on the official site...*sigh* another keyboard in the selection I need to pick from.

Just saying, you can't go wrong with Logitech. I got the Wave keyboard + mouse starting off, then I got a MX620 mouse from them to go with it after awhile. Couldn't be much happier.

The Microsoft X6 gets my vote. I've been using one since I built this system back in October and love it. It's a gaming k/b with all the right features, but it's also really nice to work with. Key action is good, it's comfortable despite being flatter (no tilt adjust) and the removable/swappable numpad makes it versatile.

I vote for "C" none of the above. If you game, get a Razer keyboard and mouse. Mine have been rock solid for 2 years now. Also, a nice thing about the Razer keyboards is they come with a tool and the keys are removable (this makes for VERY easy cleaning...)...

I've punished both my keyboard and mouse (counting several spills among the punishment) and both are going strong... I'm using a Copperhead Mouse and Tarantula keyboard, but they have newer stuff out now...

I have the original g15, the one with the fold up screen and more g keys, and i love it. I also have the mx518 which is a precursor to the modern gseries. I believe you cant go wrong with the G series, and when either of these fail I will be purchasing another.

I swear by any of the Microsoft Natural ergonomic keyboards. Once you get the hang of them, you won't ever want to go back.

I completely agree. I've loved all of my Razer products, they have never failed me. I currently have a mamba and it's amazing. Waiting on my Lycosa to be shipped.

the mx revolution mouse I have has NEVER lagged on me while lagging.

The Razr lycose is suppose to be a good keyboard..

I would be willing to try lycosa.. but, I'm a pretty big logitech fan.. even the cheap 11$ keyboard I bought hasn't steered me wrong..

I completely agree. I've loved all of my Razer products, they have never failed me. I currently have a mamba and it's amazing. Waiting on my Lycosa to be shipped.

I just want them to make a full sized wireless mouse, as well as a decent keyboard that's wireless. Until then, it's Logitech for me.

Have you looked at Logitech gaming keyboards? They are pretty good as well!

I have the Logitech G13 GamePad. It's similar to the Nostromo but has an LCD on it. The LCD can display Speedfan info (need an app for it, can be found if you search), Ventrilo info (built into Vent for the reg. keyboards) and can even be used for changing game profiles for the macros, with the profiles stored IN THE DEVICE. I've had it for about 2 months now and have loved every minute of it, coming from a Logitech Cordless Elite KB that served me VERY well.

Yes, that gamepad won't replace your KB, but it will allow you to get ANY $5 keyboard as performance won't be as critical.
