Assistance - Need to unroot and turn back to stock

So I have issue with my phone, no one can hear me on phone calls. Unfortunately I need to return the phone to stock so I can take it into the store for warranty.

So if I just run the 2.1 official, will that take care of it? Or should I use some other method to do it.

Also, I see the update is an EXE, is that gonna give me troubles since I have a linux PC?

the update has to be run from a Windows PC.. borrow a friends and do it there.. yes it'll wipe everything and unroot it..

I think I want to unroot to stock 1.5, that way I can re-root once its fixed. Are there any pre-existing guides on doing that?

Yes. Read the Sticky Guide. It gives you links to the 1.5 RUU. There really isn't a step by step as it is a program you run on your PC while your phone is hooked up. Keep in mind, there are some people that have reported problems with running the RUU, so use it at your own risk.

from what I've read people that bring their phone in to sprint dealers for service that have 1.5 on them are getting their phone back with 2.1 is this true? Did this happen to you?

This seems quite lengthy... is it not possible to 100% unroot by simply running the Official 2.1 RUU from Sprint's Download site via Windows PC?

Yes, running the ruu will take you back to 100% stock.
