Hey guys
I got a HTC Desire last weekend. It was a T-Mobile version. Rooted it with this walkthrough. So i believe i am now on a generic firmware that has the HTC Quietly Brilliant logo at bootup.
My battery woes with this phone have been nothing but appalling. The battery simply keeps draining no matter whether i use it or not.
I have read this and other forums and am not using an task killers... also here are the settings i have kept
I have so far kept the brightness to 10% auto-bright = off
gps, wifi, bluetooth disabled
Mobile network = ON
Always On Data = ON
network = gsm obviously
location = Off
Am running a widget called Battery Widget that shows the batterymeter in percentage
Email is setup in the mail app for gmail and yahoo... set to fetch mail for 30 minutes in the morning everyday
Friendstream = Off
Auto-Sync = Off
On the homescreens itself, i have the widget app called Battery Widget and Quick Settings.
Have also disabled the calendar and other home screen widgets fearing the battery crisis.
The problem is the battery drains rapidly at the rate of 10% an hour even if i dont use the device. What is it that i am doing wrong? Am thinking of doing a factory-reset all over again?
Please help
