Hi all, I am fairly new to the Android scene, having just bought my HTC Desire. I am looking for an agenda widget where I can color-code my appointments (for example work related appointments are red, sports blue, family appointments green etc.) In the standard calendar that came with my Desire this is not possible, any suggestions?

I use multiple Google Calendars for that purpose. I assign colors via Google Calendar's web page. When I go into my calendar on my phone (HTC Hero), I tell it which of those calendars to sync. Each entry has a strip of color on the left hand side. For a widget, I use Android Agenda Widget (0.91). Again, just the left side has the color.

That doesn't sound exactly what you want (I assume you mean either the background or text color to change). But, better than nothing I guess. Maybe someone has a better solution.

This is exactly what I do and exactly what I was going to recommend.

Thanks, in fact this WAS what i wanted, just a small strip of color code with the appointment will suffice. I'll start looking into Google calendar today!!

I have another question regarding the HTC Agenda widget. I use 3 different agenda's, each with it's own color code. However one agenda doesn't show the right color in the widget. eg:

Agenda 1: color red -> in widget: red
Agenda 2: color green -> in widget green
Agenda 3: color blue -> in widget red (should be blue)

I have synced all agenda's, no result. Killed the agenda app, no result.

Any ideas?

Thnx
C.

So, in order to add color coding this way we basically have to make multiple google accounts, or multiple google calendar accounts then sync those accounts with our phone...

...and put "work" events on one calendar making it say blue, personal events on another calendar, making it say green etc...

Which would actually result in us having no "one" google calendar having all our events on it...?

No, it's one calendar under one account. You add 'my calendars' to your main Google calendar and color code those.
Pull up your Google calendar on your PC/laptop, in the lower left there is a 'my calendars' drop down/area. You can add from there.
I have multiples; my appointments are grey, the dog is pink, the geckos are red etc. They all show with their own color in the main calendar. When you add an event you choose which to put it under, the corresponding color is shown. When you view your Google calendar on your phone the colors show as well.
