Postponed??

Haha, same. I was ready to jump on the google band wagon, but alas, I left the store bummed. Looks like its back to my dumb feature phone.

I cant imagine why it was delayed? However, if its to fix something, im glad they delayed it. Ill wait.

On a more unrealistic and hopeful note, froyo is rumored to be released within the next week. Hmmmmm...

Oh I kid. But boy would that be a treat. :p

Its definitely been postponed for the indefinite future, probably a month. They say the software needs to be updated which is strange because mine has had no trouble at all, its like the moto droids shorter cooler cousin.
GOOD! I dont want no force closes on me, reboots, or random slow downs.

They said it would be out the 26th-27th so I hope thats right. But once again, if it is a month, so be it. My patience needs improvement anyways...although its harder for me because I dont currently have a google phone to hold me over like the lot of ya probably do :(

i really think that this whole push back on verizon's part is poor customer service, and failing to deliver on promises. if there was a software problem then why couldnt they release the phone and just give us an ota upgrade? Or at the very least give us the real reason why it didnt ship yesterday not some BS line of "we wanted to extend the preorder period" verizon is the only company to pull this kind of stuff.

i bought over 100 bucks in accessories for my ally and now they are just sitting in in the box useless right now.

i was on the phone with VZW about upgrading my wife's phone early, said i was very interested in the ALLY, since she is currently rockin a titanium voyager (that keyboard was great!!! btw, so this should be just as good)....she said nothing of the delay, just that is wasn't out yet, and I went to the website and saw it was still preorder...luckily my wife's NE2 isn't due for another 4 months, so we can wait for them to recall them and put a nice 1.5ghz snap dragon in it, lol.....

i'll still stick to my rooted Droid though! lol...but i'm excited to see it (I owned the Voyager as well before the Droid)

I was in VZW on the 19th getting a new battery door for my Eris(camera lens cover cracked) and was talking to the manager that Ive become good friends with over the years. Verizon sent out a recall on the 7 he had in stock, listed on the recall slip was a vague description of "Touchscreen Problem". I dont know if its hardware or software related, but it was discovered after the phones had been shipped to the stores.
