Laptop Magazine Review

don't like how he photo shopped all of his photos. WOW...but nice read. Something I noticed about the HD recording is the video and all the videos is that the video is 30FPS and you shouldn't pan to much while recording because it gets blurry; which everyone is doing in the demonstration videos. It's like that for a lot of HD camcorders. I wouldn't expect a lot of the phone reviewers to know that though.

Well I am sorry river - if I don't want any bloody fuzziness on a call! Maybe I should be like you and not expect a stellar call quality, maybe I should just forget using it to make calls rather only texting and data!
Would that make you happy?? Ha

My call quality concerns are in the right, based on other reviews as well, where the person deemed it not so great - maybe I am just spoiled by my blackberry tour call quality? I shall still test out the phone myself on June 4th. Till then river reframe yourself with the name calling. =)

Anyhow great review indeed, Cheers!

Quibble: The review says, "At 800 x 480 pixels, the resolution on the Evo 4G is the same as the 3.7-inch HTC Droid Incredible and Motorola Droid, so you’re getting the same amount of pixels per inch in a bigger space." Actually, NO: same # of pixels in a bigger space is fewer pixels per inch (i.e., the pixels are less squeezed together). You'd think a tech writer in a laptop magazine would understand the difference.

Also, isn't the Motorola Droid 854x480? Neither the same size nor the same resolution.

This is getting crazy....I've been a part of BB Forums for so many years, like since before the 8700, as well as a few others. And I have never seen such hostile, out of context, threads and such. People need to calm down and just give it a rest with the ....oh my god this device is crap, this EVO model will suck, this is that, I'm starting a thread on there all not the same black, there all a different weight. Now seriously! The review was somewhat good! And yes it will all vary based on the reviewer. But everyone needs to stop for about 13/14 days until they pour into the publics hand, then u can make an accurate decision. We are the best reviewers. Not the Bonnie cha's of the world, or whoever else out there is doing these varied reviews. Only review I'm trusting is SEAN 76' or maybe Noah from Phone Dog, he calls it like it is, and yet his call quality will vary as well with him being in the bay area. You will become your own best reviewer in a few weeks. everyone needs to stop making threads about every single review, and every little thing, especially before its even out! case pretty much closed.

Funny the review points out the problem the built in browser has with Flash Lite 4. The built in browser works poorly with Flash, but Dolphin works great with it. Games sites work and more video sites as well. You can also launch Flash content to full screen with double tap- can not do this with built in browser. Weird.

4.3" with 800X480 is fine. Almost perfect, in fact. Shame the microsd is not hot swap, since stuck behind the battery. For a device also being pushed for higher def media, this seems rather insane and ironic.

As far as the display, I prefer the HD2 screen to the Incredible (I prefer LCD due to more crisp), so EVO should be same. Still, at least I can hot swap my movie and mp3 16gb micro sd with the Incredible. Can not do that with EVO. Why design it like that?

Yup, were gonna just have to see what the verdict is once it drops. The HD2 had the typing issue as well, where the keyboard could not keep up with my typing sometimes. So were gonna just have to see how the EVO fares with my typing speed. As I've said in some other threads, as well as a few other people also, 30 days is plenty long to give a phone a real good test drive! If it doesn't preform up to the hype, a simple ruturn will do the job and life will go on!
