Help Needd some help regarding "Programs" and "Widgets"

Have been loving my Incredible for the 3 weeks Ihave had it! I have figured out a lot of stuff about it on my own, but need a little help understanding programs and widgets. I added several programs to my home page (facebook, calendar, etc.), and wanted to explore the widgets. Trying to add one to the home page always results in the message that there is not enough room on my home page. Even when I took off all but 2 programs (mail and gmail) I was told there was not enough room.

What am I missing here? What is the real difference between programs and widgets (many have the same name, I see), and why can I not put widgets on my home page? Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

many of the HTC widgets are 4x4, which takes up the whole screen, my suggestion would be to change your "scene" to the blank scene and save your current one, so you can see how you like the different widgets. When you see the not enough room, you should also see a red outline of the widget to see what space it takes up. Sometimes you might just have to move another icon or widget down the screen a little bit to get it on there.

Some widgets are as small as a single icon. Some are as large as the whole screen. It sounds to me like you were trying to add one of the full-screen HTC widgets. Some of these full-screen widgets have an option for a smaller version. Some don't. Hit the ">" (right arrow) when selecting the widget, if available. The 'people' widget for example, has both large and small options.
