Lost / Stolen Incredible!!

So i was out having some drinks and left my DINC on the table and when i noticed i didnt have it, it was already gone! What makes it worse is i didnt have insurance!

So my question is, If i find someone that has the DINC and insurance is it possible to have them claim their phone was stolen and get a new one and give me the other one?

I cant pay 530 dollars for a new one right now!

Anyone ever done this or know if it can work?!?

That's fraud you are talking about and no they disable your ESN so the claimed phone would not work.

If the other person reports their phone as stolen Verizon will deactivate the phone so it can't be used anymore.

If they claim their phone was stolen, their ESN will be blacklisted and deactivated.

You may be able to add the insurance option to your line, wait a few and claim it was stolen, but thats all I can think of--

If a device is registered as lost/stolen the ESN will be added to a blacklist, essentially making it useless for any verizon network operations. I guess you could possibly take it to another carrier but i'm not sure

Nope, you can't reactivate a phone that was reported stolen. Your SOL buddy, sorry. But what you can do is report it stolen and Verizon will deactivate it and if the guy ever tries to sell it he wont be able to get much for it with a blacklisted ESN number. I guess he could sell it for parts or something.
