Since getting my phone a month ago I have been showing it off like a felon.

Anyways I noticed that everyone I have showed the phone to has had to yonk it out of my hand to play with( which is sorta irritating considering they could just go to verizon to check it out)

Two of my friends have even claimed that their phones stopped working in the past month to go get themselves a new phone. One is getting the incredible and the other has gotten the iphone ( cause hes a chump).

So have you had this happen to you? and if so what happened?

The best 'awe' I'e gotten is when I activate any voice search (from the widget, settings or Navigation choices) and just say "NAVIAGATE TO" followed immediately with "an actual address" or even somehting like "Navigate to Soldier Field in Chicago". And viola, Google navigation is automatically launched and the voice directions start to speak. Everyone who sees it is astonished that their expensive GPS requires so much manual input just to get a wrong location pulled up.

Well I am now going into Round 2 of The Great Eris Migration.

My wife's Eris got shown off during the holidays last year, and then approx 12 nieces, nephews and various friends of her scurried off and got themselves Eris'd up....many doing the 2for1 promotion, etc.

Well now that I rooted her Eris, and it is running as well or better than my Droid did when stock, it is being shown off again and I am getting calls about "Tina says you can route (lol) my phone"

Oy vey - I might need to put up a Paypal Donate button

Typical iPhone user. You'd think they were Moses, climbing up the mountain and receiving a gift from God. Geez. Having a son and daughter-in-law with iPhones, and passing my old iPhone to my sis-in-law, owning an iPod touch AND an iPad, there is much debate in my house regarding iPhone vs Android. Number 1 reason Eris is superior to iPhone=Verizon. At least I can use my phone in my house to show off all the goodies. iPhones can't seem to get reception ANYWHERE but my garage. Unless you use wi-fi. For internet only though. iTunes vs iMusic. I also don't have to use that crappy iTunes interface which again doesn't make sense to iWhiners. $1.99 apps? Free apps? Sure, you can get free apps on iPhone, but I really don't need a meditation pool on my phone. The browser is FAR superior. And I got more than one. Don't need a computer to sync contacts. Ok, maybe you can get a 16gb phone, but for $20, I can upgrade my storage with out having a new phone purchase. I paid much less, and I can get a warranty. (I'm sorry your screen broke, son. I know $100 is a lot to replace just the screen.) Ok, that reflection pool app is pretty cool though. And the debate goes on....

Oh you mean the one that lasts half the time as theirs?

I've only been reading for about 10 mins and have read half a dozen posts from you, over a couple different threads. Why do you come to an android forum to hype up the iphone? Whether it's better or not, is not even the issue. Go be happy about the iphone in an iphone forum and let us eris users be happy about our phones here, in the ANDROID forum.

Just being truthful. I've been here for a while as well, but I see the differences in them. Android is better at a lot of things. But for what it's worth, everything that's been argued is actually better on the iPhone.

And of course you'll read posts from me first, because I post in the recent threads...and that's what most people read so...

My friend's are impressed by my phone. They usually have enV's or other multimedia phones. So anything other than calling or texting capabilities really wow them. One of my friend's even has a Droid (and is a total Android fanboy) and when I got my Eris he was happy that I actually went for a phone that has a "real" OS. lol.

I the flipside, when I tell them what phone it is, one of the first questions I always get is "Doesn't that require a data plan?". When I say yes, some have actually said "Wow what a waste of money". I don't think the ones that say that really understand how much of the phone revolves around having internet access. But they are probably the same ones that only use their phone for texting. In my case, I use my phone mostly for internet.

Also I must be some magnet for people who have no idea how to identify phones. I had a Nokia E63, and people always mistook it for a Blackberry. Just like now someone actually thought my Eris was an iPhone. I can't see how they look alike other than the screen.

I own a bar, had one girl come in with an iphone. She saw my eris and was like oh you have an iphone we should bump. I just looked at her and laughed. I told her it was the eris then she started playing with my phone. She said she liked it better. Also my best friend got the droid, after the leak came out, I leaked and he'd try to show me all these apps. I just pulled up google maps and he'd just say he wished he got the eris.
