Are there any good launcher widgets out there?

I currently use Launcher Dock but it is laggy and only holds 8 apps.
It would be nice to have something along the lines of stack for iPhone OS (jailbroken of course ;) ), seamless transition between icon and page of specified apps.

Anyone know of something like this?

It handles contacts, plus has what it calls an i-bar where you can have easy access to about 30 apps/shortcuts. Totally customizable...which is the only downside, takes a while to figure out how you want to set it...but as you do you fall in love. I've actually never seen anyone post they used it and didn't like it. And never ever had a software conflict reported that was correct, either. Go to one of the Palm boards and read posts on it. I don't know where it showed up first, but that's where I learned about it.

Unfortunately I cannot buy it.
Is it the aTakePhone thing?

Heres the file. It is however available in the UK Market.. Have you tried scanning the QR code on the link I gave you?
Launcher Dock 1.1.6.apk

Thanks for this - I couldn't find it in the marketplace and as yet, I haven't been able to get my Tattoo to read barcodes (probably due to a low res, fixed focus camera).

There are many apps that I think should be in the marketplace but I just can't find - the icon pack for Launcher Dock is another example, Snapphoto another. So asking an idiot question, if I start marketplace on my handset and search from the first screen, this will search the whole market ?

Indeed it will..

It should search everything.. Are you in Ireland? Apparently if you are in Ireland you can have issues with the Market, but mainland Britain has full access..

I'm in sunny (haha) Cumbria on Vodafone UK so should have full access. As an example, if I search for Snap Photo with the following text strings, I can't find it;

snap
snapphoto
snap photo
com.ap.snapphoto

All I can think of is that the apps availability is somehow limked to the handset / OS and that some apps haven't been 'signed' to work on Tattoo / 1.6 Donut.

Thanks for your help.

Maybe.

Regarding the QR codes: you can take a QR code from a certain distance away. It does not need to be inside the square given to you in the barcode apps.

Had a google about the market apps and now understand why I can't see many apps. Original article HTC Tattoo’s #Android Market will not list apps that don’t support QVGA display option [UPDATE] | Google Android Blog

"When HTC Tattoo owners open the Android Market for the first time, they will discover a Market that is a bit lighter than what’s seen on other devices. That’s because the Market will not list any Android app that doesn’t expressly state in its manifest that the app will display and function correctly on a QVGA resolution."

In other words, unles an existing app has been tagged as working correctly on QVGA, then it won't appear. That's not to say that the apps won't work, just they don't appear (I know as I'm successfully running apps that don't appear in marketplace.

No, but are we saying this is the sole / most significant benefit of it? On my phone a folder holds 12 icons before I need to scroll... and it's a lot faster :)

Chris
No, I genuinely wanted to know :p
I had no idea you could drag and drop to folders.. (I had no idea how to use them)
It would be nice if I could name the folders though..
