No idea why this wasn't posted in the Droid forum as well, but this works just fine for us. There's even an option in to always to HQ, even on mobile. Install it and enjoy. Credits go to pardonmyfreedom for posting this up in the Incredible forum.

Installation Instructions

Either download it straight from your Droid browser, and click on it when it's done. Or, download it on your computer, put it on your sd card, use a file manager like ASTRO to find it, click on it, and install it.

You *may* get a warning about how a system app is being updated. That's cool, because it is

This was just Google's design decision. It's this way on the EVO 4G, as well as in Froyo 2.2

No choice to use the older widget style, unfortunately

At least the widget has not become less functional.

Thanks, Fab...installed, runs fine, nice to see the little HQ in the corner. Why it wasn't this way at the start is hard to understand...

Maybe it's just me, but I also noticed that the camera and search buttons on the widget don't seem to function.

Hmmm...I loaded the widget and it says "loading" endlessly. The app works fine, but the widget won't go.

Also, the Safesearch Filtering option is greyed out..

Movie camera button doesn't work, and tapping on the main part of the widget doesn't launch the player...

Same for any others?

Had to uninstall updates, because these features clearly are not designed to work with our software.

this thing works great. Love the view all subscription updates, and view all recommended for you options on the hoe page of the app. Really great. Still wish i could comment from within the app though. anyone know why we cant?

It appears I already have this (2.2 FRG01B OTA). If you've gotten your update, or just up and flashed it, you probably don't have to bother.

YouTube on mobile devices is such a joke these days. most of the videos worth watching are not available to be played on mobile devices unless the uploader allows it. Videos not allowed to be played on mobile devices won't appear in the results on the YouTube app, however they will appear on the mobile site, but it won't let you play those videos >=[
