the secret is that i was on my 4th pre, and it still had way too many bugs. i played dumb and let them come to the conclusion that my palm profile was corrupt and that i would have to delete my profile and start anew in order to get a working pre. i said, frankly i just dont want to deal with this situation ever again. this actually spanned calls with cust service on four separate occasions, in which i escalated my calls, and had recommendations sent to the store to trade my device. once i got there, the store manager had to authorize it. i shmoozed him a bit before getting down to business. i had to wait for him to come back from a vacation so i asked him about his trip and bs'd with him. he then said he had to leave for the evening but told me i could have a blackberry or something. i said that i wanted touch screen, which is why i got the pre, so he pointed to the instinct. i told him i need exchange as well. ultimately, he authorized a return for an after 30 days situation, and gave me the hero. he charged $30 to restock, but threw in a 4 gig micro sd.
annnnnnnnd the hero craps all over the pre. it might lack push, and swipe away messages/emails, but its still far superior.
