I found this interesting. Start listening at 3 minutes and 30 seconds. I'm still thinking about going to the incredible from my iPhone. I have tried the Eris for a 30 day trial but landed up going back to the iPhone. It looks like kevin summed up exactly what I thought of android on my first go with android. I would love to hear peoples thoughts. I know this is a android forum so I'm betting most people will disagree with his thoughts.

These 2 sound like hardcore apple fanbois. I hate how its almost impossible to get an unbiased review on these things. The apps are hardly "shit" for the incredible. Almost every single app available on the apple market is available on the android market. Why are these idiots getting anyone listening to them?

I switched from an iPhone (2G and 3GS) to the Incredible... no regrets at all. I love android. 90% of the apps on the Apple Store are garbage, and the ones that arent are on the Android marketplace anyway. The only thing I miss is the itunes integration and the ipod functionality. As a phone and an operating system, the Incredible and Android are superior in my opinon.

This isn't the kevin rose I use to know. I get the points he is making, but it's sad that the points wouldn't be there if he wasn't ignorant of how to use android or how it works.

I have never heard of this guy before, but I will definitely not listen to anything from him in the future. This is just a blatant example of how biased iPhone users are. He doesn't take any time to get to know how to use the phone before saying "multitasking sucks" and "flash sucks" it's pathetic.

I have stopped listening, these kind of things enrage me. You are completely uneducated on the matter and you get on the mic and spew this crap to anyone who will listen.

It is crap like this that has really made me realize that the iPhone users are scared. They are scared that their precious iPhone might not be the "best" smart phone on the market anymore so they immediately go and say "who needs multitasking?" and "flash isn't for mobile devices". I absolutely LOVE the idiocy in these statements.

Please, for the love of God, do NOT post up any more reviews of ANYTHING if you are an Apple fanboi. We know that your iPhone is just the best thing ever and nothing is ever going to be better, but seriously now it is just getting old.

I doubt he's ever heard of you either, heh. Either way he does know abit about technology and is privledged to stuff we can only dream about, but as stated in my previous post he has ties to apple inc, so he is biaed. What strikes me as comical is that someone with such close ties to apple would even think about leaving their hardware for a phone on another network. That in itself is a win for android.

Everyone takes this stuff so personal. I see both sides. Each OS has it's positive and negatves. There will never be the perfect phones. The iPhone OS will appeal to some while android to others. There are fanatics on both sides who take this stuff to seriously.

I couldn't care less which one is actually "better" but at least give me facts and not some sort of fanboi view of a product that you have no understanding of.

I too was a little concerned about the availability of apps that I used on my iPhone being available in the Android Marketplace. To my surprise, every app I used on my iPhone was available in the Marketplace (or at least a good alternative).

Sure android apps do have a ways to go. But they are getting better. And with 2.2 with 4-5x the processing speed, the future is very bright for android. I just wish google would put me in charge of marketing their os. They really need to step up to the plate and inform the general public of how robust their system is. Until i bought an android phone i had no idea 99.9% of these apps ever existed. Some of the apps i've downloaded for free are 100x more useful than anything i could find for the iphone/ipod touch platform.

Yeah I hear ya, I was only informed of Androids OS through a co-worker. If it hadn't been for that I probably would have never even looked at it.

There are a few apps that are better on android vs the iphone version. Take weather bug elite for example. Its much better on android vs iphone. I was without an android phone for about 10 days before my incredible arrived. I was so lost without my android. So i downloaded weatherbug elite for the ipod touch. I was blown away by how much better the android version looked and performed, its a night and day difference in quality between the 2. And thats just one example.

I was shocked when i opened the app store for the first time and seen the plethora of apps and games that are available. Many for free. These same apps would cost at least a buck on the apple app store. I pride myself on being on the bleeding edge of technology and even i didn't know how many apps were available. If you visit the android.com website it shows about 60 apps, which makes it look like the android platform is falling flat on its face. But once you venture to other sites you realize just how much good stuff there is available. Its just too bad google has not done a better job of informing the general public on how large of offering they really do have. I have discussed this with several people and everyone agrees google is dropping the ball in this area.

The graphics on the iphone/ipod touch apps are miles ahead of the android apps. First person shooters, etc looks amazing on the ipod touch.

IMO, most people use a cell phone for, you know, productivity (checking email, scheduling, etc.) and making phone calls. For those people, graphic quality of games doesn't mean much, if anything. I, for one, don't make graphic quality of games my number one priority on a cell phone purchase.

I'm an avid Digg user, one of my favorite sites. So I was a bit disappointed to hear Rose's misinformed comments about Android. Mainly, his bitching about multitasking when he clearly has no idea of how Android handles it. Yes, it gives you tools to look at how and what things are running, but you aren't expected to manage them.

And all those things running, they are running on iPhones too. Messaging, radio signals, push, etc. It's called an OS, lots of crap is always running.
