Help Screen Shots on Incredible without Root?

I truly tried to do what I found in another post today with installing Android SDK, Java Developers Tools and Eclipse. Lord help me I tried to use it and follow the steps, I just couldn't seem to do it. I think I'm a pretty "techy" guy, but I am NOT a developer nor have I had any formal programming experience. I'd LOVE to have the ability to do screen shots, but until there's and app (unrooted) for that, I just can't. :(

Very cool cincy. Would you mind sharing how you did it? Which posts/threads in this forum you used as a guide or found the most useful/helpful?
Just download the Android SDK. Its in that "Post your incredible layouts" thread. There is no app that can do this right now, so were just going to have to wait.

The guys above are right, but here are the posts that taught me how to do it.

This one is how I learned to use SDK: http://androidforums.com/htc-incredible/70040-incrdible-boot-animation-3.html#post697927

I also had to install JDK (Java Development Something) found here: Java SE Downloads - Sun Developer Network (SDN)

AND the last thing that I had to install was Eclipse IDE found here: Eclipse Downloads

I'll try to find the exact post that said how to do it all but here's what I did from memory. I installed SDK following the directions in the above post EXACTLY. Once I had it installed, I installed JDK and Eclipse. After they were installed I opened SDK. (note, every time you open SDK you have to click the install robot icon to do so). Once SDK is opened, I connected my phone to my laptop. Make sure your phone has debugging turned on. Connect your phone as a disk drive. Now open up Eclipse. Here's where I"m not sure if I did something else or not, but if everything is connected correctly you should be able to hit "shift-S" and pull up a screen shot of your phone. I will search and see if I can find all of the directions I used from different posts. Hope this at least gets you started.

Cincy, I go to UC right now. Good to see another person from the nasty.

I've never gone to UC, but I'm from the area and a HUGE supporter of the schools athletic programs. Went to the Sugar Bowl and watched the Gators hand them their, well ya know. Is there anything worse than the "Gator Bait" chant? yikes. Oh and they showed their class by mocking UC's chant, instead of ohhh, ohhh, ohhh UC! About the 3rd quarter it changed to ohhh, ohhh, ohhh, U SUCK! nice.
