Ever since I installed Froyo I have had a few issues I no longer get any updates or update notices for any of the apps I have installed, I know others have been getting them from the comments I have read in the marketplace from people with froyo so I am not sure why I have not received anything for 3 days now with the 30 apps I have installed atm. Also I get this static sound when I hit the red record button for video recording on my N1, could any of you guys with the same phone test this out and tell me if you can hear a static sound when switching the recording on and off, should make a glitchy staticy sound like a bad speaker sound, I would like to know if its just my phone or if its happening to anyone else with an N1 Froyo, please when testing hit it a few times turning it on and off, its just the ding sound, I have tried to reset to factory defaults with nothing installed but the OS and it still makes that bad speaker sound, I dont remember this problem with 2.1 and as far as I know I don't have a speaker problem when playing other sounds, please let me know if you experience the same issues. The video recording seems a little jerky and im not sure why but seems like the video has taken a performance hit and might have something to do with the sound issues, speaking of sound problems is anyone else having a problem with the volume if I turn mine down to half the sound is almost completely gone very noticeable problem the volume levels are messed up, using the rocker to turn it up and down you can test this out yourself go full vol and start turning it down you will notice it goes down ALOT and your not even hitting half vol yet.

You make it sound like this other non beta version is gonna be out in a few days, this just came out I am sure we will be waiting a few months before the next update for froyo, I realize its in beta but I doubt they will be releasing another update anytime soon, im stuck with this froyo beta in the meantime, I wish I could just go back to 2.1 but cant seem to find any information on how to do that. Why would they release a beta froyo if they are gonna come out with the official release in a few days makes no sense.

Makes perfect sense. Get it out for a select few and get all the random feedback you can to do a last minute bug find and fix and then your good to go with a better official release. How does that not make sense? Even if its not done that way it still makes sense.:D

I can't seem to get any of the SD card Installer apps to work on Froyo, like AppInstaller, tried quite a few, they all force close immediately.
Developers have to update their apps to use apps2sd. as a test, install an app called Kitchen Timer. then go to Manage Applications and click on Kitchen Timer. The "move to sdCard" option should be available. if not then you have some kind of bug.

It appears as though this was an accidental release, and people have been spamming threads literally everywhere about the problems, so post them here and let other people help you. I'll do my best to keep a known issues going on here if I can at least once a day.

Known issues

-apps do not auto update, and there are no longer notifications
-Messages appear to arrive late
-there is no option to install apps to the SD card for most apps (Keep in mind this isn't an official release and I'm not sure how the dev enables this)
-the sound quality has been reduced.
-the hotspot features on some devices does not exist, others it just doesn't work.

Please do keep in mind that some of these features CLEARLY do not work because they aren't included in the build, or it's up to the developers to do that. That's the reality of the fact so you can't enable the apps2sd function and other things. Don't worry though, the beta will be out soon and the world can rejoice :)

I'd love if a mod would sticky this. BUT if not that's cool too you know. ;)

The only problem im having with froyo is my battery life is awful now. It drains twice as fast now...but there the only downside, and of course the devs have to introduce apps to sd to their apps. But everything else seems to work great. I get updates for all my apps. Over all it runs great, it alot faster, and the browser is now officially thee fastest mobile browser of any mobile device. Not Too shabby

Same here. last night before I go to sleep around 11 pm, the battery level was around 45%, but became 17% when I woke up at 4 am. there were no background applications running and auto-sync was turned off.

So basically the phone was in its stand-by mode. but just over 5 hours of stand-by mode almost 30% was drained and that's just ridiculous. there must be some kinda bug in froyo.

Anyone else?

must have been some app you have installed that causes that drain on the battery. My phone's battery drops about 4% during the night.
I can only think about some battery widget or weather widget that could be hindering your battery life

Problems I have discovered so far:
1. Bluetooth headset does not function properly. I get media stream to those headset, but not calls.
2. Poor MS exchange support. Still some old crap as in 2.1.I figure they would fix this by now, but guess not.
3. Some notifications does not vibrate( it's just random. sometime it does sometime it does not). WTF??
4. When I connect to Wireless hotspot, the screen of the phone has to be ON???otherwise it usually gives me some trouble. (also really need a switch to turn it on and off. Seriously)

Improvements I have noticed so far:
1. Touch input is more accurate. I finally can type with vertical keyboard lay out with 95% accuracy ... in the past it's just impossible.
2. Stability. No crashes so far. No lags when picking up a call. In the past, sometimes the answer scrolling lock is lagged I couldn't pick up calls.
3. Calendar shows more accurate overview with small dots. Before it used to be a long green bar.
4. Wireless tether is awesome. I used to use a third party software to use this function. The power drain was terrible and the device could get very hot. With native support, I can use it for significant longer and the device is still normal temp.
