This is fun....

Randal Howard Paul is perfectly suited for the tea party contingent of the GOP.

I enjoy being civil. It annoys the hell out of me when people start insulting others by calling them a "Libtard" or "dumbass neo con". Those people immediately lose my respect. Instead of insulting each other, it's best to just debate the topic intellectually. Name calling is elementary at best.

Added: One of the greatest things about this country is its diversity. Cultures, languages (very unfortunate that there are people that want to try to eliminate anything other than English because they don't know it), accents, races, religions (including atheism and agnosticism), and so forth are what makes this country what it is... a melting pot. The United States has always been known to be a melting pot and will always be a melting pot. That, I love. I just wish that everyone would feel that way and not be so xenophobic.

I try not to insult other posters here. Within reason, though, I think politicians are fair game. Emphasis on "within reason."

I woudn't call a Republican poster a "conservatard," or a libertarian poster a "loonytarian." :D

I understand. When emotions arise, especially in a very personal topic, it can be very hard to not let them get the best of you. I used to have a major problem with that when I was younger. I let them get the best of me and cloud my judgment in selecting my words. Now, I try to think more clearly and edit and re-edit before I put up some posts.

I don't really care too much for politicians. I would consider myself a moderate. Very liberal when it comes to social issues (as I am directly in line with many of them), but leaning conservative on many political issues.

I guess what annoys me the MOST are people who are so close-minded or refuse to admit any kind of fault. So many people base their decisions on "Well... the GOP believes this, so I will blindly follow their belief." and same with "Well... the Democrats believe this, so I will blindly follow their belief." No mature how much debate you do, they're so stubborn and narrow-minded that they can only see and understand their point of view. Men are much more at fault of that than women. Women at least have the ability to have much more sympathy for the other side... as is evidenced by Cindy McCain's and Laura Bush's view on a "certain subject" (that is considered to be very liberal).

Just wanted to say how much fun this is. Glad everyone here is very civil and can debate with each other with out getting off topic and personal. And I've only been on for a couple weeks. It'll be nice to convert all you to the other Lib, Libertarianism, and get your votes for Rand Paul for President in 2016.
Wait for it....wait for it....

Spewing his racist hate at an entire group is called....what? Civil? Nope, that's not it. Off-topic and personal? Yes, I think we have a winner!

Slander and maligning the whole group because he is filled with hostility is dripping in more of his posts than one can shake a stick at. According to this one's logic, every lib is intolerant and offensive.

Oh Jesus! This is too much!

I thought you were too. It's unfortunate that there are people who simply do not want to keep it civilized and instead, taunt and purposefully try to start an argument.

I wouldn't go as far as calling it an argument. I think "an emotional responce" would be better. I say this because there's little arguing and lots of taunting going on.

ETA: I'm not trying to start an argument with you...:p
