Sprint's HDMI to cost $30?

From today's USA Today review:

So its looking like getting a $20 through Arrow or a $30 one through Sprint. If the cable alone is $30 I wonder how much the dock will be

Still cheaper than the shack, thanks

When I preorderd from RS shack last Saturday I asked about stuff, and he said the only thing he had was an HDMI I asked how much he said 50.00:eek:
About crapped my pants.

These things will be available within weeks of release for significant savings. Sprint and retailers often have accessories at higher prices than you can get in other stores and on the web.

It's not wise for them to be selling these things at high prices though.

They better have some bundle deals on release day or this inventory will sit.

I don't think Mono has micro HDMI listed on their website yet. Type D hasn't been introduced/included on many devices yet so it might time some time for Mono and others to carry.

Molex does list them, as they helped develop the new Type D standard. Wouldn't be shocked if many of the resallers are actually selling Molex at this early juncture.

Before too long, these cables will be available for $5 on eBay, mark my words. To this day, an HDMI cable runs $19.95 at Wally-World, or over $75 at Best Buy for one of those "Gold Plated Connectors with Super-Duper Marketing Name". I picked up two HDMI cables on eBay last month for $6, shipped.

Cables cost pennies to make, once they're standardized. Ebay will be full of low-ballers. And scammers too, of course, so check your seller's rating.

Cables and accessories are always heavily marked up so that they can keep prices as low as possible on big ticket items. Nothing new here. For stuff like HDMI cables, just order online where the overhead is lower and so are costs. I can see buying an HDTV in a brick and mortar since you want to see that in person but for cables there is not much point.
