Possible Screen Burn! :(

Just noticed this mark on my screen after turning my phone off then back on.

I've tried cleaning the screen with a lint free cloth but it doesn't come off

I have a martin fields screen protector on the screen.

Could this be screen burn, or just a mark under the screen protector?

Very worried about it, only had the phone a week

Just tried taking part of the screen protector off with some tape.

It is a mark on the sticky side of the screen protector.

It wasn't there yesterday though, I would have noticed.

Anyone know how it could happen?

It's just on the sticky side of the screen protector, no idea how that could happen though, it just appear out of nowhere.

Just wash it under a running tap to clean. These screen protectors are expensive but reusable - it will stick again just fine.

Yep you can clean them then put them back on. It's on the instructions that come with the protectors.

I've got the official HTC ones and they're pretty good to be fair. They don't have a "sticky" feel to them like some of the cheap ones do. My only gripe is that because there is a hole for the notification LED (not sure why as the light can be seen through a protector just fine) you tend to get a small air bubble form around it. The same goes for the cut out area for the proximity sensor - you may end up with an air bubble around that too.

Just took off the Martin Fields and replaced it with a cheap one off ebay.

It actually looks and feels better

Best guess, maybe some chemical used in the process that makes the protector "sticky" that's disolouring after being exposed to the air?

I also have a Martin Fields screen protector which has the same mark on it. Is this a faulty batch? I think I will return mine - although the screen protector was ok, I found the reflectiveness of the screen, coupled with the fingerprint prone protector, could make the screen difficult to see in bright light and it looks much better without.

Well I had a screen protector for the Desire from a company called Folix-FX-Antireflex Screen protection foil, dazzle-free and hard coated this I purchased via Amazon.co.uk
No problems at all, great when taking photos you do not get your own reflections

Anyone know of a place where you can get hold of matt screen protectors. My wife has one on her iPhone (Sorry) and they dont show fingerprints so easily

The one I have is matt/antiglare and does not show finger prints easily
