Hey guys I came across this new launcher today called ADW and it is now pretty stable since it is free in the market place (was only available for rooters before). Its pretty similar to froyo

UPDATE: After tweaking with some of the settings I have gotten the speed to be VERY close to that of LauncherPro Beta

***UPDATE***: Battery life seems MUCH better than LauncherPro. Mine was last unplugged 16 hours ago and I am at 75% with moderate txting and web browsing.

EDIT: FOR PEOPLE HAVING TRUBLE WITH THE SETTINGS: I have found settings that work WELL for me. These settings make this thing FLY for me!
Desktop Scrolling Speed: 374
UnCheck Live Wallpaper SUpport
Desktop Overshoot: 39
Drawer Zoom Effect Speed: 401 (the only thing in the launcher that needs work.)
Uncheck new drawer
Check animated drawer
Check fast drawer

This launcher has SO MANY CUSTOMIZABLE FEATURES!
This is not as speedy as LauncherPro Beta but this is just starting out and should get faster!
Check it out very cool! Oh and it has a setting to remove the labels from the icons!!!

How do you add the HTC weather widgets to the home screen?

You can't, HTC widgets will only work when using sense as your home launcher. There are other widgets in the market that offer sense like clocks, such as Beautiful widgets and Weather & Toggle widgets. I've used both and Beautiful widgets has a lot of different skins you can use.

I tried this (and am still trying it), but I don't like the inability to put four apps in the bottom like you can with LauncherPro. I do like the horizontal scrolling app tray better though.

I'm with you on this. Although I haven't used this version on the market I have used his version prior to this one and it is fast. As a matter of fact I couldn't tell any difference in speed between ADW and LauncherPro if you adjust the settings on ADW. I just didn't like the dock to get more than 2 apps, anytime I wanted to get to the launcher button it was a PITA to get your finger just right to slide the dock down and now that LauncherPro can be customized I'm all over it.

Downloaded this launcher, like the look, it IS much like froyo as the op said. Willing to give it an honest try, but I REALLY like Launcher Pro!! No matter what though, this seems like another great home replacement, this and LP are the best by a mile. I'm glad we have these awesome devs out there!

I freakin love this launcher! The fact that you can compress the icons to 6x6 by row and column is soooooo awesome. One thing that I love about Home++ is the ability to hide the status bar, and looooord I'm so glad ADW can do that too.

The dockbar (6 extra apps visible when you swipe up on the dock) is kind of a hit or miss for me at the moment. I keep launching apps instead of closing it when I try to swipe down.

Other than that, I think this is awesome.

Once you set either LAB or RAB how do you change them?

I've looked around, can't figure out how, but I just woke up so, probably overlooking it. Also is there a way to make the app drawer scroll vertically?

Just drag another icon onto them and it will change.
And yes go into app drawer settings and uncheck the "new drawer: or something, in the description it says something about the Galaxy S.

I'm a bit concerned here. It says it has access to "services that cost you money- directly call phone numbers." Does anyone know exactly why it needs that access to operate or if I should be concerned? Launcherpro says the same thing.

I dont think that anything will happen, Ive had soooooo many apps that say that and have never been charged for services that cost me money
