Does 32G card work with 2.1?

Since most of us have 2.1 in either the leak or OTA version, has anyone tried using a 32G SD card?

If so, does the phone read it as 32G and is it stable?

My understanding was that people were using a 32gb card with 1.5 and it was working correctly. Note that I'm not speaking from personal experience, I have a 16gb card in mine, but from what I've read on the forums it works.

I'm using a 32GB card in my Eris. I copied everything off my old SD card onto my PC and then inserted new card into phone, format, hooked phone up to PC, then overwrite with files from the old SD card.

No, not really. It's the phone's processor that determines speed, not the SD card size.

Incorrect, there have been several confirmed reports that faster read/write speeds on SD cards will result in a faster user experience when writing to the SD card, or accessing information on it (read).

Thus, you should have less lag browsing through photos, music, and utilizing apps if you're rooting and using an A2SD supported ROM.

The "size" of the SD card, to my knowledge, shouldn't result in any speed increase, just more storage.

Don't know which cards are the fastest overall on the market (I'd like to), but I've heard that SanDisk is generally regarded as the fastest (super expensive though).

I know a lot of people had seen some improvement when using a few Class 6 cards, but it's important to keep in mind that just because an SD card is certified to a certain "Class," that's just the MINIMUM read/write speeds. Speeds can actually be MUCH faster (thus, Class 4 SanDisks frequently outperform other Class 4 SD cards).

If anyone know which microSDHC truly has the fastest read/writes, that would be awesome.

As a side note: I wonder how much difference there is when loading up the 3D Gallery if you use a very fast card . . . hmmm . . .

yes the class 6 cards give faster read rates. a 16 gb card runs about $70 and a 32 gb runs about $115. not worth the little boost in speed one would get moving up from a standard class 4. a lot of people were getting the 8 gb class 6 cards for around $30 and using those instead of the stock 8 gb card and saying there was some boost in speed in some applications, nothing scientific just observations that some aps seemed fatser. search the threads as there was a lot of talk about it a few months ago.

Not all cards are equal. Some of your cheaper brands although may be class 6 are about the same speed as some high quality class 2 or 4. With anything you have to do your research on the brand, tests are out there on the net.

I use a Sandisk 16GB class 4 card. I really don't notice much of a speed increase.
