Help How do you Identify contacts that are verizon users?

How do you know if your contact is a fellow verizon user? Is there a way to tell from a call, text, or maybe from the contact list?

you can download the my verizon app from the market, plug in there phone number and it will tell you if they are "in". I don't think there is a way to automatically have your contacts scanned and tell ya.

Thanks. on my old phone, when I got a text, I could tell they were a verizon user because it would say "CB: xxx-xxx-xxxx" after the text. Doesn't do that with this phone.

Was not a phone setting on my BB Storm. Text messages would have that along with a "D" for delivered if it was sent to another Verizon Wireless customer.

the "my verizon" app rocks. very cool gives you easy access to everything including usage... in the market go to the "verizon" tab and look there. honestly that is the type of app that should come pre-installed, not cityID.

I don't think it's a phone setting. I got texts from non-verizon users and it had a call back number after the text but it did NOT have the 'CB.' All Verizon users had the 'CB.'

I will try the myverizon App, but I just wanted to know by looking at a text or call if the user is a veizon user. It helps with my plan usage.

That would be a cool feature if you could link it with google voice so that it did not use your google voice number to dial verizon contacts. ofcourse then it is confusing with txt and the two numbers and all that.

Not always. Verizon and alltel still don't work between the two. So a number can be in but not show Luke normal. Noticed t mobile sometimes works though so you could get the notification and not be in.

In texting conversations on my old treo contacts would show up as blue when they were verizon and grey if they weren't...loved that.

my old samsung phone would have a green checkmark next to all the txts i sent to people that were in network. that was very handy as i know exactly who i can mass txt and not tear into my monthly stash... i miss that green check mark!!
