One question for you first
Are you using the default charger for it? By this I mean the one it came with.

I bought my as an import and it came with power for the intended country (Asia some were). So I struggled for a week with charging issues and finally scored with the purchase of the black berry bold official charger. Its the same micro connection.
In my hunting I discovered that the X10i is very very specific about how many amps are being out putted by the charger.
I tried the 5v 500ma (Milli amp units) chargers (bought at least twelve different styles, all of them did not function with the x10i).Tried 5v 1amp chargers and 5v 1.5amps even, nothing worked. The X10i must be 5v 700ma out only. The black berry bold dose this nicely and it will also speed up the charging proses when compared to a usb port on a laptop.

Maybe this data can be of use.

ok 2 things from me
1 when pulling battery in and out a couple of times today i managed to discharge it completely lol not sure how but it went from 100-1% in a boot up
AND
2 if you get that ""your battery needs charging do you want to see whats been using it ok cancel box"" if you don't ok or cancel it and leave it on screen the phone doesn't start charging doh....
but now the update is here from vodafone im hoping my battery gripes are over with... fingers crossed

I have downloaded Juice Defender and Advanced Task Killer. The juice defender really helped my battery life. It could be that you have stuff running all the time that is draining it, have a scout round the forum and maybe the Sony Forum Main: Community: Xperia X10 Family too for tips on battery improvement.

I have just upgraded firmware to the R2ba023 version which is supposed to help so that might be worth you trying too.
