Help Managing Apps/Memory

So, I just got my incredible today and I see all the debate about task managers vs not using a task manager.

Is there a way in which I supposed to manage my apps? Most apps don't appear to have an exit option. Do they actually exit when I hit the home or back keys (they don't appear to be doing that)?

Like I was running a vnc client and went back to my home, then came back later and the vnc client was still doing it's thing. Without a task manager, would that app ever close?

Should I basically just ignore any of this and just open apps, use them, then go back to the home screen and use more apps and just let the OS deal with that all?

Won't that be a problem at some point?

Very confused. Hopefully, someone can explain how that all works.

I think most people like System panel, i haven't got mine yet but I know i'll be downloading when i do..

Menu - Settings - Apps - Running Services - Kill whatever you want.

Those are running services, not running apps.

I'm not really looking for a way to kill apps, I'm trying to understand how I'm supposed to be managing them?

If there's no exit button, do the apps just continue to run in the background until I reboot?

Is that even an issue?

Do you all just run whatever apps you want and just don't worry about apps closing?

search the forums, it is totally diff from winmo , i was trying to get a handle on it also, i came from omnia.
it's the way linux/android OS works.

I say search , because the mods seem to be in the process of moving threads around

Yeah, I came from a WinMo Touch Pro.

Great article.

I guess I'll just leave things be and use apps however I want to and won't worry about how the OS deals with the memory management.

I did actually download system panel too. I can see where it's at least a little interesting to see what apps are running and, in your case, I can see where it might help figure out a problem.
