Market & Changing phones?

I don't have an evo yet...

But anything you purchase in the market.. is tied to your Google account. If you use the same Google account... then all the apps should be there in your download list.. to reinstall.

Free apps, you will have write it down

I currently have a HTC Hero. After I get the EVO will it know which apps I have already downloaded or is that something I will just have to write down or remember?

Thanks!

Set yourself up with an appbrain account:
AppBrain - the best Android apps and games on the Android market
Download the app on your Hero and sync to appbrain. Appbrain will make the list for you.

Then when you get your EVO, install appbrain and sync to your appbrain account. Then it will prompt you to download all of the apps to your new phone.

Actually, just use appdragon. It basically does this by automatically compiling a list of all the apps and what have you that aren't on the phone stock, then e-mails it to you.

Certainly nice to have the list from appdragon, but appbrain will make the list for you and sync with your phone and find the apps for you in the market on your phone. Super slick.

I use mybackup pro. I like it because it actually makes a backup of all the apk's which you can later restore. It's nice because you don't have to redownload, plus there are some apps I have that aren't in the market anymore that this keeps for me. It also backs up other phone info. (call logs, sms, mms, bookmarks).
