I've had the Motorola Droid for a couple of months and I am still learning how to use it. A few ways ago a friend advised me to download the ShapeWriter keyboard which I did, and it is amazing and useful. I used it to replace the standard "soft keyboard" that came with the unit, and it allows me to quickly write whole sentences with just one hand using my thumb.
Another great download was the Dolphin HD Browser which replaced the standard Droid browser. Dolphin HD is much faster and has high quality graphical look and feel. See CNET article for some feature details.
