Why is the EVO second to the Incredible...accroding to PCWORLD.

I was just skimming through PCworlds article about the EVO and they mention that its second to the Droid Incredible. Here is their exact words:

"HTC has struck gold again with the HTC EVO 4G ($200 with a two-year contract from Sprint), which is easily the best smartphone available on Sprint and is second to the HTC Droid Incredible (Verizon) as the best smartphone available today."

Comparing the specs of the Droid Incredible and the EVO, to me the EVO wins. The weird thing is PCworld doesn't mention why the Droid Incredible is better. Maybe its the $10 fee even though you don't have 4G coverage? Or that the Droid has a AMOLED screen where the EVO only has a OLED screen ?

Here is the article in case you have not read it.

HTC EVO 4G Phone Review - PCWorld

While the Incredible really is incredible, I feel that this is just one reviewer's opinion, and it remains to be seen which one is the better of the two. It really boils down to what each person is looking for in a phone/provider and as such goes back to personal opinion.
PS....I will have both soon ;-p

I am switching from the Incredible to the EVO. I really liked the Incredible and am hopeful I will not disappointed with the EVO. I went from a Droid to the Incredible and was blown away with the speed increase, screen resolution and smaller size. That having been said, I am a little concerned about the size of the EVO, however, saving over $100.00 per month for the same service with the future potential of 4G will negate any problems I have with the EVO size and if necessary go a long way towards having my pants modified with larger pockets:)

$100/month savings? WTH? My parent's family plan with 3 lines is $158/month.

You will note in the article that the author complained about call quality and marked the Evo down for that issue. I have not read in any other of the tens of articles or reviews any complaint about call quality. I think the author is just plain WRONG about the issue of call quality.

There have been numerous complaints over on the Incredible forum about its call quality. I never had a problem although I only used it for just over 3 weeks.

to me, the only thing I find that the Incredible has that the Evo doesn't is the internal 8GB of storage. Hopefully Froyo makes this a mute point.

I know nothing about TFT vs. OLED so I can't comment on that.

And they still can't use the 8GB storage for installing apps....thus at the moment the EVO offers more app space. When 2.2 comes out that will change but they will both be able to install to sd card or internal storage.

I thought the Incredible's 8GB storage could be used to apps?

Maybe not?

I know this will be a non-issue with Froyo.

I wonder if the end user will be able to install an app on the SD card or if it's up to the app makers to enable installs on an SD card for each app.

I know for a fact that you can't install to the incredible's 8gig internal storage. If you go check out their forum you will see the posts

Why is it so important to people what other people say about a cell-phone that THEY like (or don't like)? People take it so personally you'd think they are insulting their mommies. I REALLY don't understand the whole mentality. It's amazing what today's kids see as priorities in their life. Actually it's kind of scary.

So people don't have the right to discuss the differences between to comparable devices? Sounds like your taking it personal lol.
