I love my HTC Incredible. However i have come across a few problems. One of which is when someone calls me or I call them depending on what "mood" my phone is in the person on the other line cannot hear me. Also since about two days ago it's been happening almost everyday, now the hitch pitched "Beep" is accompanying the problem of the person on the other line not being able to hear me. I can get around it, I have toe reset my phone twice. Yep, twice. I reset it the first time and it does nothing. Still same ol' high pitched "beep" and no one can hear me. No matter how long I wait on the phone or how many phone calls I make. After the second reset it works with no problems.

Anyone else having an issue similar to this or as often?

Yes, there is a lengthy thread on calling issues. In particular I was having the exact same problem as you for the last 2 days. I finally got pissed and was ready to call Verizon last night but before I did I wanted to do one last thing. I booted into recovery and formatted DATA and CACHE twice. Rebooted and reset the rest of the Incredible up. Never ended up calling because since doing that all my calls have been crystal clear today. I hope it lasts.

What made you decide to do that and what side effects does it have?

Do you lose data?

It completely wipes all data and accounts etc back to factory except it doesnt touch the Internal 8GB or your sdcard. And it was a last resort, I was ready to send it back I was so furious. There was really bad wind storm here and it blew down the McDonalds golden arches and crushed some cars and then I sat there watching as power lines started to go over. I was trying to call dispatch to report the downed lines and my Incredible was not cooperating....

I had a problem same as you are so I did hard reset twice within one week since I got the DInc. I called the VZW rep and she said it's probably hardware issue so she just replaced order for my replacement. Finally I got it the day before yesterday and so far so good. I think my DInc had a problem in my case.

I have been having the same problem. Every once in awhile when I try to call out, I get the high pitched whine and no one can hear me, or when I receive a call, sometimes they can't hear me and I can't hear them, or it's just me that can hear them or they can't hear me. I have only restarted my phone to fix it, never tried the hard re-set.

I was afraid of taking it to Verizon for a replacement because I know when my daughter kept having problems with her ENV2, they wouldn't replace unless it could be replicated in the store. And you know how that sometimes goes.. it works perfectly when you bring it in.

I don't have a landline, and I have 3 kids that need to be able to get in touch with me. I can't wait until the problem happens again and rush it to Verizon so they can test it.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I just came to this form just now to ask if anyone's had this problem, and I found this thread.
