Droid Can't Swim! - WTF?!?

Just had to share. My beautiful, well cared-for Droid, first one out of the store way back when, went with me into a creek yesterday. FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

The real b!tch is that my P&S Canon camera also went down. It dried out fine and works great today.

Replacement is scheduled to arrive Wednesday.

Dude, I wasn't looking for sympathy - just sharing a moment, a really FU'd moment. If I had a video of me getting shoved under the ledge by the waterflow after going all in, I'd be rich! Wife certainly got a memory too.

I live in AZ, land of 5% humidity, so it's just sitting on the counter, I don't think the rice will do much better. It was a regular comedy skit, watching the water just pour out of every part of it. It's toast, and if not, I'd just as soon get the refurb anyways and send them this one back.

The memory card survived, will post the video of the falls in a minute.

Usually the memory cards will survive pretty much anything. I've read stories of cameras recovered out of lakes years later and the memory card still works. Unless the contacts corrode completely off(they're usually gold, so good luck with that), it'll probably still work.

Amen to that. One of the reasons I come here is because of the sense of humor and wit displayed by so many people. PK actually made me lol along with the other responses.

Update: Replacement arrived in 2 days, new not refurb - cool. It's good to be back, my Blackberry felt like an old brick! Getting one of those Aquapacs for next time...

I swear, I was wearing 'em! But this damn feature was just fast running water over perfectly slime-coated polished granite - Even the wife went down, and she's quite lithe!!!

BTW - I have searched and searched and I can't find Life Raft in the Market - is it a third party app?
