Can someone please help me save pictures in my text messages? I would like to NOT use any app such as "Save MMS" because I'm sure there's a way to do this with the phone as-is.

Also, when I get a picture message, it doesn't automatically download the picture. It notifies me, and then I have to manually click "download"

I appreciate any help!

Thanks!

I too have noticed this issue as far as the auto-downloading of mms. One thing I have noticed is that if I wait for a minute or two after it "fails" to download it, it grabs it. I wonder if it is receiving the message before the picture is actually uploaded to the server, therefore the phone gets the message, but can't receive the picture because it isn't on the server yet?

Idk, but it annoys me too :p

Did you read what he said? He said he already selected that. o_O and so did I, as have many others, yet it still fails to download automatically.

... yes I did. As is why I said to go to the STOCK/ORIGINAL messenger. Activate auto-retrieve mms. Also have this enabled in the Handcent app. Try it. If it's still not working for you then there's obviously another setting.

Prior to my enabling auto-retrieve in the original messenger, I would have to click 'download' to get the picture. Now it appears automatically.

Sorry I figured it was implied that we were all using the stock android messenger. I might try doing a factory restore, but I don't feel like reinstalling all my apps...

I'm sure there are more , but you could look at appbrain for pc and appbrain sync for droid , also system panel app has 1 touch archive apps to sd card . might help in restoring your apps.

Probably the only thing I appreciate on this phone - doesn't clutter up the storage without my permission. All answers to your question are correct - press the image and a menu of options will appear allowing you to save it to your phone or card. I admit - not very intuitive.
