Help Vibration Issue on my Droid Inc.

I'm currently having problems with my sms/mms and e-mail vibrating settings. Being that it just won't do it.

I've checked all of the settings on the original sms/mms app. and Handcent. I currently have the original turned off and Handcent turned on.

It does vibrate for incoming calls though. I'm just wondering if anyone else has this issue, user error or is this just some sort of glitch on my phone.

Thanks ahead of time!

It's just one of those side effects of the Android operating system and how "open" it is for developers. I've experienced the same problem after installing (and then uninstalling) a sound/time management profiler. To fix this, download one (I use timeriffic) and turn vibrate to on.

From my experience, if you uninstall certain applications that turn vibrate off for whatever reason and do not turn it back on before uninstalling then it will remain off

I have the same problem...use stock messaging and when I have my phone in vibrate mode I don't get gmail/yahoo/text notifications, but my phone will vibrate when called. I checked each setting manually (went to menu -settings -while in gmail, while in messaging etc) and they are all checked to vibrate.

I tried Sound Manager and clicked the vibrate setting but it still didn't vibrate. Will give timeriffic a try tho.

Interesting about apps that turn vibrate off. Do the apps that turn vibrate off list them in the 'warnings' before you download? I have installed/uninstalled a few apps (of course none that I can remember now, damn) and that could be the problem. :(

I just wanted to post that sound manager is the only app out of 4 that fixed this problem. I am not sure what killed my vibrate on txt, but a simple checkbox in sound manager fixed it. Also confirmed that if you remove sound manager the vibrate still work.

My understanding it's a known problem that most have. I downloaded Sound Manager and my text alerts now vibrate like their suppose to.
Good Luck!
