I have never been happier with my Droid than I am right now...CM 5.0.7.1 and Launcher Pro provide the best experience I've ever had with my Droid...fast, smooth, reliable, fun to use.

For the first time since I rooted months ago I'm not avidly scanning forums looking for another ROM or home screen to try, leaning into the next upgrade. Sure I'm looking forward to 2.2 (primarily for the enhanced Exchange integration), but my fevered "gimme, gimme" has mellowed to a calmer "Uh yeah, I'll have some of that when it's ready, thanks."

I always liked my Droid a lot, but now I realize that my previous feelings were simple puppy love. ;)

Thanks to Cyanogen, Koush, and the other key ROM devs, and to Frederico for Launcher Pro.

I am in the same boat, but with NexBeast and ADW Launcher. I found the right combo that worked for me and it is great. I haven't been more pleased with my droid. All this support for this phone has definitely curbed my appetite for the "next best thing". Props to everyone on these forums for helping others out and especially all the devs for all their hard work!

same set-up here, but with a P3Droid kernel. Ive tried BuglessBeast, Smoked Glass, JRRummy, and NexBeast, and greatly prefer Cyanogen.

Running JRummy's cyan remix (based on 5.0.7.1) and not only is it beautiful, but its sooo smoooth! It runs easily as fast as my BB and NexBeast set ups plus some features. I'm a pretty loyal BB user, I typically run other roms for maybe 3 days before going back, but I just can't get off of CM this time, especially running JRummy's remix.I still feel like I'll end up with BB again, just not sure when. This CM version is great!

Just out of curiosity what do greatly prefer? I haven't found that much difference.

For me, it's because CyanogenMod is synced with AOSP. That means all those nice little features that you think you can live without (but you quickly find yourself not wanting to live without) are in CyanogenMod. Things like being able to hold + on the volume rocker to skip ahead to the next song in your playlist, even when the phone is locked, holding the power button and having rebooting as an option, that sort of thing. I can never go to another ROM again because of all these features; I'm spoiled. :D

i'm a long-time BB user and have tried CM a couple times over the months, but always gone back to BB.

would you say there are recent developments with CM that make it more interesting to check out? have you tried it before?

it's not that much effort to check it out, but maybe there's something new or something i've been overlooking...

I was a long-time BB user as well...started with his first ROM release and mostly used his ROMs until about CM 5.0.5-something when I switched, and haven't looked back.

Part of it is the built-from-source angle, which means getting a number of extras/features that come with that, part is the stability I've had with it, and part is the active CM/Koush community.

I'm sure Pete is still pumping out great ROMs, can't go wrong with either...I think you said it yourself, it's so easy to give it a try, might as well and see if you like it. :D

Just downloaded that setup yesterday. Love the colors and how many wallpapers he included to give it a nice cohesive theme. Running just as fast as regular CM, nice and smooth. :)
