Help sync palm data to evo

Are you talking Palm Desktop or webOS? There is a patch to get contacts over for webOS, if you use Palm Desktop, just export and import into Google.

Or install the contacts to email patch from preware and email yourself all of your contacts in as a vcard. Once in gmail, import the vcard. Once you've recieved your EVO, log in with the gmail account that has your vcard contacts loaded and your done!

I have been using a Palm Treo 700P with my Mac for several years. I have been using Mark/Space Missing Sync for Mac for the past three plus years as well. They work well together. Mark/Space has an Android equivalent that will also upgrade everything. Are you using a PC or a Mac? I am told by Mark/Space that when I upgrade to the 'Droid version, everything will come over from my Palm syncs. They also make several other terrific synchronizing products. Sync Software for Mobile Smartphones to Mac OS X, Windows XP and Windows Vista - Sync Mac and PC!. Hope this helps!

Thanks - to answer some questions, I am using palm desktop, v6.2.2

Picked up EVO at BB yesterday (had to go back - activation was taking so long), and then went to Sprint for contacts transfer. Wanted to buy screen protector there but system down, so reps had plenty of time to chat. He suggested transferring to Outlook everything, then to google should be easy.

So, I have installed outlook (I never used it before, but use OE (win XP) and windows mail (win 7) ), and am now at the stage of how to get palm data into outlook.

I would be willing to invest up to $50 or so if there was a really good sw to do this easier, and if I knew it would do it intact with minimal errors or dupes.

I saw companionlink on here but reviews were scary. Offisync sounded good and is free.

So, is this a good plan using Outlook, and how best to upload data to it?

Truthfully, I am surprisingly overwhelmed by the EVO and still learning the basics, coming off the palm database over so many years (I think right after the Handspring - anyone remember that one??)

I do have my 2 boys though who are iTouch fluent, and have showed me some things...

getting the evo on Friday - want to move my long history of palm data over. Any best recommendations would be appreciated - want contacts, datebook, memos and ideally ewallet (will contact them) to convert. Will buy a program if worth it.

You mention using a PC, Palm Desktop, and now Outlook.

In that case, I'd recommend you first sync the Treo to Outlook using the Palm software, which will populate Outlook with your contacts, events, and notes.

Then you can make use of Missing Sync to move those same data types (and the data now in Outlook) to your EVO via WiFi or Bluetooth (no google required).

Missing Sync also handles media (music, video, photo, ringtone, files) and call log & sms log.

We have 1 (maybe 2 more) free updates in the 1.x series of the product coming that will add tasks and bookmarks to the list of data we sync.

Really wtf theres no unified method to dealing with this. HTC shouldve taken the basic time to be sure that other smartphone data would be transfrable. Its been six months and I still dont have a good alternative.

wth you software makers!!! So many app makers you would think...

Desktop which syncs with phone. first

Syncing with data between the major softwares - palm, blackberry, iphone second

Really is that so hard? I wish i knew how to program I would bang this in a week and make a fkn mint.

Unbelievable.
