no it isnt lol, I'm often find it impossible to view the villain website. not all the time, probably over 60% of the time. Weird,eh?

Phil, to save me unnecessary aggro, did you do any kind of wipe before installing the patch? I have to agree the sooner I see the back of 6.1 the better!

Forget what I just said - I've just gone back again to 6.01 - lag again - not as bad as 6.1, but as there are no perceiveable benefits for me I'm staying put.

6.2 is a pile of crap. Spend ages updating, then there was a install bug. Waited and downloaded the next version of 6.2, then there is a simlock bug.

No Quality Control...

All you want is a rom that works, don't want to be pissing around installing different apps and having to set the cpu at different speeds.....

I'll be sticking with the MyTouch ROM.

MyTouch was good, but I always got a tone of FCs for no apparent reason.

Oooh , I got all excited for a bit there when I saw the thread ... then disappointed as I read the later comments.

I think the difference in ROM's isn't necessarily quality control, its different developers (and different kernels).

Sticking with 6.01 seems to be the way to go right now.

I'm very happy with XDA and the ROM's they produce, thanks very much guys ... but I'm going to wait until there is good feedback on a new ROM before taking the plunge in future, else its just a lot of fiddling for nothing ...

The problem is the developers never seem to finish a rom before moving on to the next one.

They will as soon as the official 2.1 comes out and they have a proper base to build on.

I have been flashing Villain ROM's since the first release, but I have come close to bouncing my device in the bin recently, mainly because accesing people is sooooooooooo slow, and I get black screens when a call comes in, the ROM has become un useable on my hero, so Im going to flashe Sense Hero before i go back to a 1.5 ROM!

I was saying the same things myself. I've gone back to Modaco3.2, and I'm sticking with it I think. I can honestly say that I haven't noticed any of the things that nearly all of the 2.1 ROMS had problems with. It's a shame cos all those ROMS are good ROMS with good points, but unfortunately bad points too. If only they could all get together and weed out the bad points from one by replacing them with good points from others.

Modaco rules for me, it's simply the best at the moment

Have you tried the latest version of Sensehero at all?

Yes, I did.
GPS was fine at first, reflashed the radio which cured it, then it packed up again. Had periodic keyboard lag, then I went to b4 and got problems with everything going purple !!!!
I see others have had the same problems too

I don't have issues with slowness no more after reading a couple of threads on their forum regarding the overclock app. What I do have now is a battery issue, I'm having to charge my phone every bloody night. I unplugged it from charge this morning and I have hardly touched it all day and now it wants to be charged again!

Other users on their forum are also reporting this but the person who did Villian 6 hasn't had issues regarding battery. Blah.

Im currently using 6.2.1

Its very fast, no lag or problems at all.

OC at 691mHz.

Started off slow, but after booting a few times, adding autokiller, OC its runs like a dream. I also get 2 days worth of charge from it which is more than my blackberry i had before so im happy!

Some others said that on the villainrom forum. You can just unzip a ROM and install the vendor.apk (Market app).

In the latest version compcache is disabled, which I suspect was causing a lot of people's performance issues.
