Sprint and Wi-Fi spots

I don't think so. Not sure it's going to matter so much with the Evo though. ATT offered the wi-fi b/c it's network cannot handle the traffic. Others haven't done that b/c they don't have the level of issues ATT has.

Yea that somes it all up......if you are on Verizon or Sprint, most of the major areas have strong 3G where you wouldnt need Wifi.

AT&T does this cause in most major areas, you need to be aligned perfectly to get strong 3G....so its easier for them to have WIFI spots.

AT&T's issue is of a capacity nature, not having anything to do with "alignment". This is a radio signal, not infrared.

I think he just meant the sometimes on, sometimes off spottiness more so than line of sight or anthing technical. On another thread we talked about how I've been across the street/one block away (on ATT) trying to reach my wife (also on ATT) across the street and not able despite both of us having full bars. The crazy part was people standing right next to me on VZW and Sprint were talking to their family and friends. Some of them were even my family and friends.

I reported it to ATT and they told me the problem was my phone. Turn out no one from ATT could get through. Not acceptable.
