Does anybody know a way to clear the history in the Google quick search bar?

Every time I open it, it displays a list of my previous searches and I'd like to clear it.

I have checked in settings/applications/manage apps, but the "clear cache" button is grayed out.

Any help will be appreciated.

EDIT: Never mind, I found it, I was looking at the wrong Google search app. Thanks anyway! LOL

I just did this and it worked:
menu > settings > search > clear search shortcuts

That's strange, I tried that first because it seemed the logical choice but it didn't clear my search bar, I had to go the longer route that I posted.

This phone is starting to sound like Windows, what works for some doesn't necessarily work for others with the same problem and with the same hardware!

I've tried both methods listed above to no avail. My "clear search shortcuts" button is greyed out - not an option. If I go the long route and try "clear data" through the "manage apps" tab, it does nothing. The Kb value of the data goes to 0 until I close and reopen, and the quick search tabs are still there (clear cache and clear defaults is also greyed out). I've done some looking and know I'm not the only one with this problem but have seen no solution. I don't want everyone who checks out my phone to have one click access to my search history! Thanks for any help!
