i doubt that incredible suffered from a "simple pocket drop". looks like it fell on the dancefloor in a nightclub or something.

Lol I have thrown my iphone before and it bounced and hit a wall and nothing happened to it. Wonder why this one broke. Usually if the screen lands on something it can crack. Even with a case and a screen protector it cant stop it hitting and edge and cracking the screen.

From what I saw of a teardown of the evo, it didnt look that it was that hard to replace the glass. I just hope the glass and LCD are different pieces so it cheaper to replace the glass.

need clarification here -- when we say 'glass' we mean regular glass and not gorilla glass, right?

It's HTC version of gorilla glass. It's not "window glass", but its definitely not intended to withstand direct damage of any sort.

It's not like the old Razor phone that used to shatter by just touching it, the repair shouldn't be too bad for it.
