how to make phone icon sticky or dock !?

does anyone know if it's possible to make a phone dock on the bottom of the screen like on the incredible. i mean, i think it's kind of ridiculous that this isn't standard....

There are tons of home replacement apps which do this on the market.

Two current favorites are:

ADW.Launcher - Android app on AppBrain

LauncherPro Beta - Android app on AppBrain

The only reason it's like that on the Incredible is because it uses a tweaked version of the Android interface called Sense UI.

Why is it ridiculous? You can put the phone icon on the main homescreen and hit the home button if you're on another screen. As Americans, we can't be THAT lazy. But yeah, those home replacement options do allow you to dock the phone icon.

agree... the replacements take care of ur need though. Launcher2 is soooooooo the way to go!

Helix Launcher also allows this, and you can also customize the docked buttons, which is the only gripe against launcher pro, Phone and Contacts icons on the same doc? C'mon. I want Phone, Outlook, Gmail not what Launcher Pro has.

ADW is the fastest cleanest in my opinion... it has a host of settings and options to get it exactly how you want it and its really fast.

Its not about being lazy it's about being efficient.

ahh I see the light now. Launcher pro is almost perfect. Still need to figure out how to create a shortcut for one app, and then I'm golden!

On Launcher Pro, Just long-press on the dock spot where you want it, select "applications" from the list that appears, and select the app.

it just took LP a long time to bring up the apps list, but that is the only thing it does slowly! vast improvement in performance over HelixLauncher!

The beauty of this platform is that IF you want something YOU can either find an app or build it your self.

LaunderPro also has the option now of enabling 5 rows of shortcuts on your screens rather than 4, really awesome addition if you ask me!

Us Americans are "THAT lazy."
It's not about that though. I think it is ridiculous because this is a phone. You shouldn't have to hit extra buttons to get to a phone app.

With that said though, I don't even have the phone icon on my homescreen. I just have the contacts in the LAB on ADW and if I need to use the dial pad I just switch to it from the contact app. I miss being able to just start typing someones name on the keypad like on my WinMo. (I know you can just hit the search button then do it) but the +'s greatly outweigh the negatives. Some people still buy cell phones to call people though. The only reason I don't use the phone as a phone very much is because all my friends think its way to uncool to talk on the phone. That's so 2001... It's like the Haussmanization of Paris.
